The Question of the Week is posted every Sunday and will consist of a question followed by my answer and explanation to the same.  Some questions will only require a simple answer that could potentially be followed by an explanation.  Many questions will be writer oriented, but not all.  Everyone is encouraged to answer in the comments and discussions/follow up questions are more than welcome!

What’s your favorite type of cake?

Today’s my older brother’s 41st birthday so I thought I’d do a birthday related question.  He usually gets a chocolate cake, but his wife has converted him to lemon, and the one tonight had raspberry in the middle.  Not quite my favorite but I like it better than chocolate, which I can only really stomach (hehe) if it’s from Wegman’s, an awesome supermarket that’s only in my area of the country.

My favorite type of cake is yellow with buttercream icing.  I’m also partial to well made fondant.  I’m lucky enough to have a mother-in-law who makes cakes on the side, and her icing is transcendent.

However, if someone were to present this to me as an offering, I wouldn’t care less what flavor it was.
