<–Question of the Week: 11/13/16 Question of the Week: 11/27/16–>
The Question of the Week is posted every Sunday and will consist of a question followed by my answer and explanation to the same. Some questions will only require a simple answer that could potentially be followed by an explanation. Many questions will be writer oriented, but not all. Everyone is encouraged to answer in the comments and discussions/follow up questions are more than welcome!
What’s your favorite type of flower?
Roses. Always have been always will.
I’m also fond of calla lilies even though I’m allergic to them, lilies that is.
I suppose this is the reason I chose these two for my wedding bouquet, but the calla lilies only came about because I needed another flower besides roses. Roses have been my favorite forever.
What’s your favorite flower?
I look forward to your answers in the comments!

Sunflowers! We always had a row of them in the back garden growing up. They were my dad’s favourite and at his funeral we gave out little pots of sunflower seeds to plant. His friend’s came to my wedding and all decided to wear sunflowers on their outfits. It’s quite heartwarming really.

What a bittersweet, but lovely and fitting tribute ;_;

Ooh! Good question! For me it’s always been lilacs. One of our neighbors when I was a child had bushes of them all over her yard and the smell was simply heavenly!💁🏻

I love the way lilacs smell! I actually discovered I was allergic to lilies a few years ago when my husband sent me some flowers at work. They were sitting on my desk, and I noticed this cloying smell, which made me sneeze and made my eyes water. It still took me a bit to figure out it was the lilies hehe. I still love callas though, but I don’t keep any around since they’re poisonous to kitties.

Passion flowers. They’re so intricate and come in several varieties and color combinations. Here’s one I shot in my neighborhood. The vine that grows in my yard has white petals. https://stranschtdotcom.files.wordpress.com/2016/10/fullsizeoutput_aa1.jpeg

Oh my goodness, those are beautiful! They look almost alien and not of this world. So lovely ♥

My uncle owned a florist my entire life until he passed away a few years ago. It’s really hard for me to pick a favorite. Pretty much any type of lily would do it. Orchids too.

I love the way lilies look, but they hate me hehe. I get all sneezy around them, and I can’t bring any home since they’re poisonous to cats. Orchids are lovely. I don’t know if they’re poisonous to cats, hm…

I’m not sure if they’re poisonous to cats either….I don’t have any so I hadn’t thought of that.

It’s so hard to pick just one! I really like hydrangeas, lilacs, rose of Sharon, and bleeding hearts to name a few. And tulips, tiger lilies . . . dang it, it’s too hard to choose just one! >_< Pansies are nice too. I think they're cute. I guess I just like flowers in general. 😛

I had to google rose of Sharon. I see those on the side of the road or in the middle spaces all the time! I don’t recognize a lot of flowers by name or visual alone, so I’m always like “Oooooohhhh” when I can put two and two together.
I love the way lilacs smell.

Yeah, lilacs smell amazing! 🙂 My parents have a few lilac trees in their backyard and I love smelling them when they are in bloom.

Honestly, I’m not a big flower girl. I’d have to say dandelions since they are so bright and cheerful against those boring green lawns. Plus their seeds are fun to blow around! People call them weeds though, and many spend tons of time and money killing them off with potent herbicides…

Big…flower girl? Tee hee, sorry, I couldn’t help it. Those words just go together for me :p
I like dandelions and don’t understand why people think they’re weeds. I think they’re cute, not ostentatious like other flowers, and they certainly don’t mind being called weeds. They’re hardy enough to stick around despite humanity’s attempts to kill them, and the clocks are so much fun to blow around. I think those little wisps you see flowing around are associated with dandelions, too. I always called them “wishes,” and if you catch one before hitting the ground, you’re supposed to make a wish, and then blow it away again. I love remembering little flights of fancy like that even if adulthood has made me cynical.
