This week’s question/discussion is brought to you from a Twitter conversation between LightningEllen and Athena. The only reason I put my two cents in was because I already had a response prepared, though it was a question I didn’t think I could ever answer.
What actor/actress would you pick to play your favorite Final Fantasy character?
There is only one actor who could even begin to pull off Sephiroth, and that’s because he played Thranduil in Lord of the Rings: Lee Pace. They’re almost equally as beautiful, and they both have that regal/elite air about them.
Or, or, the actor who plays Prince Nuada from Hellboy: The Golden Army.
Hell…he might be even better than Lee Pace. Holy shit.
Yeah…Prince Nuada really has that Sephiroth look to him, and his back story better aligns.
Bonus: If I had to pick a voice actor for my Seph, it would 100% be Benedict Cumberbatch who has this low, sexy, English accent. He played Kahn in Star Trek: Into Darkness so we know he makes a good, genetically enhanced villain hellbent on destroying humanity for familial reasons, Also, not that this matter, but BC has really green eyes.
This isn’t real life (it’s photoshop and I’m okay with that).
He’s also often described as looking like a sexy alien, so there’s that.

I’m trying to figure out someone for Auron. Someone who does calm but physically intimidating. Daniel Craig doesn’t quite fit the bill for me.

Hm, what about Liam Neeson? I’m thinking older, but bad ass, and he’s the first to come to mind.

Thranduil would definitely pull off an amazing Great General. Prince Nuada seems like the slightly better choice though, in my unqualified opinion of course 🙂 I love the magic of photoshop!

Right?! The actor Luke Goss looks NOTHING like that. Makeup is amazing, and yeah, Nuada wanted to punish humanity for stealing the planet from his people so there’s that…

Well, a lot of characters I love have voice actors (Solid Snake has David Hayter, Samatha Traynor and Leliana are already spoken for (literally), etc etc.)… but, well, if I had to choose I’d have to say tha- COTE DE PABLO AS MIDNA!!! cough cough excuse me *regains chill*. Yes, hm. I think Cote de Pablo would be an excellent choice to portray Midna.

OMG that would be absolutely perfect. I don’t know if she naturally sounds like Ziva, but if she did that voice, it would be AMAZING. Like that is too perfect. Midna is my favorite character in the Zelda universe. I’ve seen some absolutely marvelous cosplays of her. Like when she showed her true form at the end of Twilight Princess, I was as speechless as Link. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I think she’s more beautiful than Princess Zelda #isaidit

Yeah I’ve seem some great pictures of cosplayers, too. She just has that gravitas that draws people to her, it seems. I think a *very* compelling argument could be made that she’s more beautiful than Zelda; she’s got that “exotic” thing going for her, too 😉

It’s so funny that the song I’m listening to right now is the End Credits to Twilight Princess, too lol. This is going to sound terrible, but Zelda is your typical, pretty blond princess, but Midna is literally why the word exotic was created.
