A weekly post updated every Tuesday detailing my current gaming projects. I have quite a backlog of games to either play or watch, and I’m hoping a weekly article will assist with my progress as my other accountable posts have done with reading and writing.
I have an account at Grouvee, which is a essentially Goodreads for gamers, so please feel free to friend me there!

I not going to call it quits on this game, but I have cut back how often I play it. I was religiously booting it up at least once a day to collect my daily reward and do a few things, but now I’m kind of meh on that. From what I understand about freemium games, they just keep going until you grow tired of them. I really like FFBE’s story, but I don’t think there’s ever any conclusion (feel free to set me straight if this is an erroneous observation). So, I’m not giving up on it, but I’m going to put it on the back burner so that I can concentrate on other games.
Title: The Room Three
Genre: Puzzle, Mystery
Developer: Fireproof Games
Platform(s): iOS, Android
Release Date: 2015
Date Purchased: May 28, 2017
Date Started: May 28, 2017
I finished The Room Two in less than a week and immediately downloaded the third installment for $3.99. This one has even more of a streamlined feel to it with your character going from room to room in addition to have more of a room to look around. I like when creators improve with each iteration, and I’m more than willing to fork over my money in order to play a stellar puzzle game. The cut scenes and graphics are also very impressive.

Currently, at the part where Shepherd is in the geth interface learning the truth about them and their quarian creators. It’s not nearly as straightforward as we’re initially led to believe. I’m really curious what she’ll have to say to Tali and the other admirals after she comes out.

Holy shit, I completely forgot I was watching this lol. I didn’t do anything with it this week. I suppose I’ll have to remedy that.

- Thumper – I’m already a fan of rhythm games, but Cheap Boss Attack had to mention there’s kind of a creep factor, so I had to check out some videos on YouTube. I can definitely see it. There’s a frenetic intensity that I haven’t felt since I battled “Lou” in Guitar Hero, and with Thumper, it’s even more so.

Miscellaneous
I have been Switch hunting for a while now with no luck. I…don’t even know if I want to spend the $300-$400 it would cost, yet I feel if I find one I’m almost required to do so, because they’re such fucking unicorns. Also, no retailer even knows when they’re going to come in well at least Best Buy doesn’t. I’d gone there after work to pick up some replacement headphones, and since I was there, I figured I’d ask. No luck, but the store guy agreed with my assessment of the Big N hehe.
Also, I’m thinking of starting another weekly post Music Monday where I’d feature one game music video a week, since I find them like all the time. This is a huge maybe though since I’d be adding another thing to my weekly schedule. In my head it doesn’t feel like it would take too long: find a song, post the link, say a few things about it. I could even schedule it on Sunday so I wouldn’t have another thing to do during the work week. Plus, I love talk about music, and I just found this amazing music theory channel that I want to share with the world. Ah the more I talk/think about it the more I want to do it :p
Finally, there’s going to be a daily post for the entire month of June starting on June 1. The majority of them have already been drafted, and I’ll probably schedule them out. It is video game related (obviously, or I wouldn’t be mentioning it here), and it’s been done by at least two other bloggers, so you might already know what it is. It’s been a fun, little endeavor that I was waiting to roll out once a 30 day month came around again. I wanted to do it for April, but didn’t take the time in March to set it up, so June it will be!
*yawn* Sleepy Narcissist is sleepy.
What are you currently playing and/or watching? Is it something new or old? Is it a first time run or a replay? What’s the genre? Would you recommend it? What’s on your radar to play next?

Well June sounds like it’s going to be an amazing month 😀
I’ve finally settled into a schedule (and by settled I mean I actually have a plan and stuck with it for three whole days haha). I’m officially playing Andromeda and Alundra as I try to slowly work my way through my backlog and also stay current. I think I’m going to just hammer through DAI on the PS4 just so I can play the DLC (so many acronyms!!), since I already sank over 130 hours into the PS3 version before beating it, and then go from there.
Considering the level of discipline it took to learn to play the violin (and other instruments) I have so little when it comes to games. I never realized that until I started writing about them. I either am completely lackadaisical, or, like I did when I first played Dragon Age Origins or the Mass Effect trilogy, I’ll binge play and hardly sleep. I really need to be better about that, because I’m getting older and binge-anything is harder and harder to do! (haha)
But yeah. Andromeda and Alundra are currently my games, and I’m sticking to my schedule!

You’ll definitely recognize what I’m doing immediately hehe.
I played violin for a few years, too! I was never that great and much better on the piano that I played for 9. Ah talking about music is making me definitely want to do that Music Monday post, but if you have time, there’s this YouTube channel you’d probably love. He does music theory on VG music o.O I don’t understand everything he says (maybe like 30%), but he explains in a completely non-condescending way, and clearly knows what he’s talking about. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeZLO2VgbZHeDcongKzzfOw
What kind of game is Alundra?

You should! I’d love an excuse to be a nerd about music. And now I want to check this guy out. I loved my music theory classes, so this sounds right up my alley! haha
Veryverygaming actually recommended Alundra to me. It’s an “action adventure role-playing game,” but he recommended it as it’s a “Zelda-esque” game, in regards to puzzle and things like that. I just started and I’m so far intrigued. It’s a lot of wandering around and talking to people so far (typical RPG affair). It’s a game for original Playstation (I downloaded it onto my PS3), and the graphics are reminiscent of SNES/Genesis, so that’s fun. I’ve literally played it for about an hour, so I might not be the best one to talk about it quite yet, but I’m enjoying it!

I failed my miserably because I don’t think I took the prerequisites. I wish I could go back and repeat. It was like I almost knew the language, but couldn’t quite grasp it.
Hm, I may have to look into that one!

I had not previously heard of Grouvee, I will have to check that out.
I’ve been thinking about doing a Phantasy Star series playthrough at some point, so it’s cool to hear you are enjoying watching the first one.
I’m still playing Prey and I may have hit a wall with it. I’m not a huge fan of the combat in the game, I actually think for an FPS it is quite poor, but it wasn’t ever annoying enough to detract from the interesting story. That flipped at a point though and now I am constantly being hounded by an annoying enemy type that is a bit too bullet spoungey for my tastes. I’m going to give it a little more time but if I can’t get myself back in to it, I may just have to watch the rest and call it a day. I don’t have time to be annoyed when I have so many other games to play.
Additionally, being a big hockey fan and the NHL being in the midst of the Stanley Cup Playoffs (Finals now), I had an urge to play some more NHL 17. It is a really good iteration of the series, and the best on current consoles. I’m about to finish my created character’s first season in the junior league, which is impressive for me because I haven’t finished a full season in an NHL game since the PS2 era (despite having all of them). Anyway… it’s good.
And finally, I’ve been playing a lot of Quiz Up on my phone. I have hit the top ten in PA in the Star Wars, Disney, and General: Movies categories, and #1 overall in PA in General: Games and Pirates of the Caribbean.

I like anything that helps me keep track of what I need to do! There’s another site, but I can’t remember what it is. Were you going to do a stream of your playthrough *looks interested* I love watching let’s plays so if you ever do, let me know!
That’s exactly how I feel about games. I don’t mind a challenge, but when it becomes to difficult, I turn into a ghost. It’s what I did with the first Final Fantasy and Super Paper Mario. With FF I messed up lol (seems to be a pattern), and didn’t realize you had to make sure there was an “E” next to a weapon for it to be equipped. Went through the beginning of the game clueless why it was so hard. I knew it wasn’t an easy game, but my Fighter who’s supposed to be a tank was taking off close to nothing. I felt pretty foolish lol, but I see nothing wrong with doing that. Games should be enjoyed, and if you’re not enjoying it, you should move on especially if you have a big backlog. It’s how I’m feeling with Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius. I like it, but it’s becoming kind of monotonous, and since it’s a freemium game, it’s like the song that never ends. I have a shit ton of games in my backlog so I need to be moving on.
Who’s your favorite hockey team? I am not a big sports fan at all, but I don’t begrudge anyone anything that makes them happy! I’ve seen some videos of hockey players being awesome to their fans, and it warms my little goth heart hehe. I especially liked the “teddy bear” video where the home team scored and the fans tossed a shit ton of bears onto the ice. Fucking amazing.
Wait your in PA, too? Challenge accepted!! Haha, I’m kidding. I’m not really that competitive. That’s awesome dude! I do want to check the game out though because I’m pretty trivial 😀

That is a bit funny about the equipping of items in Final Fantasy, I’d guess that was quite frustrating.
I’d say the Flyers are my favorite hockey team as I grew up in Philadelphia and currently live right outside it. That said, if there is a player I can latch on to, I can be a fan of almost any team.
I am in PA, just north of Philadelphia actually.

I felt so dumb!
Niiiice, you still have team loyalty. I’m still an Eagles fan even though I’m not really into sports. I agree with the player thing. I really like Devon Still because of what was going with his daughter Leah. He played (I think past tense) for the Bengals and I follow him on Instagram.
I’m right around the city, too. I grew up in Elkins Park and went to Cheltenham High, then moved to West Chester for college and didn’t stray far from that area.

I know West Chester quite well. My wife and best friend went there. I would drive down sometimes and stay in their dorm overnight. We also spent a bunch of nights over at 15 North seeing bands (I think that might be closed down now though).

15 North! It is closed down now. It turned into this other bar for a while, but I can’t remember what the hell the name was. Were you ever around for The Rat? The bar right across from Main Hall hehe. They used to have karaoke nights there. I used to live in McCarthy Hall, which was the all women dorm, then in Killinger, the “quiet” hall. I went back there a bit for grad school, but didn’t finish my masters.

I know of The Rat but never went there. My son’s godmother evidently passed out in the bathroom there once.
My wife lived in Killinger for a couple years and my best friend lived there all four he was there. They were on the third floor, which was the co-ed floor. Good times they were.

I lived on the first and I think the third floor as well! I used to work for Sykes Student Union so it was super convenient for going to work.

Good luck with your Switch hunting! The only reason I had one on launch day was because my awesome boss let me take a break to go stand in line at EB Games to preorder. Honestly, I haven’t really looked at my Switch in over a week. I’m much more interested in HZD on my PS4 🙂
June sounds pretty awesome! Now I have your next project and the official start of summer to look forward to 😀

On one hand I want one, but on the other hand, I don’t want to be “forced” to spend $300 lol because if I find one in the while, I’ll have to dish that that very expensive pokeball :p If I get one, you have to play Mario Kart with me!
I’m actually kind of excited for the start of summer. My apartment complex’ pool opens up, and I haven’t gone swimming in years for…reasons (gah, emotions NOPE), but it’s SUCH great exercise that is way easier on the joints, and I want to do something, you know? I’ve been thinking about spinning class or even buying a mountain bike so I can bike that one trail I still want to run. My husband is like “I wanna lose weight before I ride a bike,” and I’m like “Um, I don’t are lol.” I miss doing something due to stupid health issues, and I’m stubborn enough to just deal with the consequences, which are really just me falling asleep for hours afterwards, so it’s really just a drain on my time.

I would love to play Mario Kart with you! Just promise not to laugh when you beat me because I’m terrible, haha.
Gr, I hate it when those emotion things creep up on me like that! I actually can’t swim and am terrified of water for this reason. Don’t tell anyone my weakness… 🙂 It’s definitely easier on the joints though. Exercise is so annoying. It took me a long time to adjust to a routine I finally liked/stubbornly stuck with. Good luck with your quest!

Psh, I haven’t played a racing game in years! I’d have to get my racing legs/wheels back lol.
I was the same way when I was growing up. It didn’t help that I was teased for it, too. No one understood why I was so afraid, but I always had this thing for water and drains. The ocean I was fine with, but artificial bodies with their creepy drains and pipes just freaked me out.

It sounds like we’re at the same Mario Karting skill level then. Yep, you will definitely beat me, haha.
Yeah… I have some “fun” childhood pool memories of being unsuccessfully taught how to swim. The ocean is cool though but I’m never wandering far in it. I live in Nova Scotia so I’m kind of surrounded by that ocean thing actually.

I’m about 2 hours from the beach. PA is landlocked, but New Jersey isn’t too far away, though the only beach there good enough for TSN is Cape May :p
