A weekly post updated every Tuesday detailing my current gaming projects. I have quite a backlog of games to either play or watch, and I’m hoping a weekly article will assist with my progress as my other accountable posts have done with reading and writing.
I have an account at Grouvee, which is a essentially Goodreads for gamers, so please feel free to friend me there!

I’m still playing this almost every night, but I’m not religiously logging in on a daily basis. The story is still really interesting, and I have a ton of Missions again. The Giant of Babil vortex quest is quite compelling, but I think I’ve gotten as far as I’m going to get with the Titan raid. I may do the Crystal Tower a few more times (if it’s still there), but I think I’m going to wean myself off of this (as I was saying in the last post). I eventually will, but I’m a Taurus…we do things kind of slowly hehe.
Title: The Room Three
Genre: Puzzle, Mystery
Developer: Fireproof Games

Release Date: 2015

As odd as this might seem to say, this is not a game I play too late. There are some, well not horrifying, but more like startling, scary things like finding a skull inside of a dive helmet. It’s a just a little bit creepy.
I really want to start Type-0, but I’m not at liberty to play the PS4 whenever time allows me. I may see about getting one for myself. Maybe if I get one that doesn’t have as much memory it won’t be that expensive *adds it to list*

Alis and crew seem to be doing well for themselves in the vehicle department! Now they have a hovercraft and a land rover (in addition to the spacecraft piloted by the adorable Hapsby), though there are still enemies to face in both of those. It reminds me of the vehicle you get in FFVII that breaks down right outside of Cosmo Canyon. It was quicker than walking, but it wasn’t like riding a chocobo; you’d still have to deal with random battles.
Title: Mass Effect III
Series: Mass Effect

Original Release Date: March 6, 2012

I think Shepherd and crew are back at the Citadel handing in missions, but it’s been a few days since I’ve watched so don’t quote me.

Goddamn it! I forgot to watch any of this again. I don’t have it my to-do list, and it’s not in progress, so I don’t get any update emails. I’m going to try to remember to watch an episode or two before I turn on ME3

I still haven’t found a Switch, and my 3DS hookup hasn’t gotten back to me in nearly a month. I want to add Xbox 360 or XBone to my wish list, but I’m not sure which one would be best. I really only want it so I can play Lost Odyssey, which is a 360 game. I’m assuming the XBone is backwards compatible? Should I spring for that or just get a 360 to satisfy my JRPG craving?
What are you currently playing and/or watching? Is it something new or old? Is it a first time run or a replay? What’s the genre? Would you recommend it? What’s on your radar to play next?

Still playing Dragon Age: Inquisition. Just started to play again after months of not playing any game, mostly due to a depressive state of mind. Thing is, I also want to play Skyrim, Mass Effect (I have 1-3 in a collectors edition), and Kingdom Hearts. Oh, and finish my fifth play through of Kingdoms of Amalur (I may have completely misspelled that. In fact I’m 99% sure I did).
For some reason I have lost my copy of Star Ocean since I moved in 2012. I suppose one of the guys have it, and they probably took it in to trade. Not too worried about that, though. I can buy it used for about $20.
I’m tempted on getting an Xbox that is compatible with Fable too. I played it almost the entire time I was at a family weekend bc my brother had it.

Fable 2 and 3 are backwards compatible with the Xbox One, but the original Xbox Fable and its Fable Anniversary remake are only on 360 as of now. Seems like the 360 is the way to go, since that console is backwards compatible with original Xbox titles.

yeah… i had a convo with my bro about it lol. i think he’s going to give me his 360, which is amazing… and cheap!

Nothing cheaper than something free!

I was supposed to get a 3DS from a friend for $100, but I haven’t heard back from him. I might pick up a 360, but I need to play with my PS3 first lol.

I love my PS3. Although I’m not sure if a PS4 is backwards compatible bc eventually the PS3 games are going to start getting phased out. At this point though, I have enough games to keep me busy. I even have borderlands, but I keep putting off playing it bc I looked at the controls and promptly shut the game guide and put it back on the shelf lol

I don’t think current PS4s are. They want you to buy digital copies of games *rolls eyes*

Yeah… complete rubbish. For his Xbox one, my brother dealt with a bunch of crap like that. But he’s quite savvy. And he upgraded the hard drive to the point where it’s ridiculous.

I agree. Cheaper, too!

I still need to play Dragon Age. I’m reading this phenomenal fanfiction of it even while knowing little to nothing. I only know what I’ve seen Fig play. I’m watching an LP of Mass Effect 3 after 1 and 2, and I own all three on PS3, too. I want to play it myself before I play Andromeda.
I think I have Star Ocean on my backlog.
The Xbox 360 should be!

I think Sony mentioned something about dropping the price of the PS4 to $249 this weekend for E3, so now may not be such a bad time to invest in your own console. 500GB is the standard hard drive size, with 1TB being the only other option. I’m not sure if there’s much of a price difference though, as by now the 1TB hard drive may be the new standard. Not 100% sure.
Right now I’m 20 hours deep in Horizon: Zero Dawn, but took a break yesterday to start up Dark Rose Valkyrie (also on PS4). It’s a JRPG I received to review that’s made by the folks behind the Neptunia series.
There’s some neat ideas, like a meteor crashing on Earth and spreading some virus that turns humans and animals into monsters called “chimera,” and an investigation mini-game where one of your teammates is actually a spy, but it’s proving to be your standard overly verbose JRPG with horrible pacing issues and a confusing refusal to push the narrative forward. I’m not enjoying the five hours I played and kind of just want to go back to Horizon lol.

There were a few on Amazon that were completely reasonable, but…I should probably play with my PS 3 first since I really haven’t even touched it since I got it It was like “TSN Acquired PS3” and did nothing with it. When I move on from my mobile games I will. Since it’s backwards compatible with PS games, I’ll be able to play FFV on it.
RPGs love their meteors lol. I think it’s just a good cataclysm for any kind of tragedy/apocalypse story. Meteors and mutating viruses obviously put me in mind of FFVII and After Years a bit, too. Is the gameplay at least fun despite the pacing issues?

I definitely get the FFVII comparison, maybe even Parasite Eve.
And no, the gameplay is in no way fun.

Gah Parasite Eve. I need to watch an LP of that again. I think I started and never finished. I wonder if the novel has been translated into English…ah it has!

Parasite Eve 1 & 2 were great. I didn’t care for 3rd Birthday on PSP, but the story was cool if you can find an LP.

Such a good game. Did you know it’s based on a book? I just added it to my TBR list. I figured why not?

I am fortunate enough to have all 3 of Microsoft’s consoles but they are unfortunately my biggest dust collectors. Microsoft needs more good exclusives! Backward compatibility is really weird on Xbox. Some games work and some don’t. I’m not sure why so I’m not much help, eh? 🙂

It seems like the 360 is backwards compatible, and there are a few exclusive JRPGs so that’s what I added to my wish list along with Lost Odyssey. It doesn’t seem to make sense for me to get an XBone since it doesn’t really have a lot of exclusives, and I’m all about the JRPGs!

Speaking of games, do you still want to play that game Saturday?

Yup! I was just talking to Fig about it. I’m not sure what time, but I’ll let you know 🙂
