Day 13: A game you’ve played more than five times.
For the Final Fantasies, Final Fantasy IV and Final Fantasy VI. I’ve only actually attempted to play through FFVII twice, ironic as that is. I’ve seen the ending numerous times, but each time I tried to play myself I got stuck. Then I became embroiled in the symbolism and theory behind the game, and oddly enough, I spent time I could’ve been playing it again doing that hehe. Now I’m quite excited to get to it, because I’m armed with far more knowledge than I had during my initial (partial) playthroughs, so I can imagine I’ll find more VII revelations when I do.
I’ve played Super Mario World more times than I can count, The Adventures of Lolo 3, SMB3, and a slew of games on older systems. I’m going to assume this questions means “beaten” more than five times, though that really doesn’t count for Coleco/Atari games as they typically had no “end.”
However you’d like to define it, what game have you played more than five times?
Contra for NES is easily the game I’ve beaten the most. I used to play through it daily, or at least weekly growing up.

My brother was the same! That was one of his go-to games. My dad used to play this game called Jackal all the time. I remember how the final boss was this huge tank, but you could hide in the corner of the screen where he couldn’t get you and time your shots.

A lot of those NES games had neat little places you could hide to avoid damage, haha. Jackyl was fun!

Super Mario Bros. and Final Fantasy quickly came to mind for me.

Ah Diddy Kong Racing! I loved that little game. For some reason I forget about racing games. They’re the only sports games I really like.

I don’t replay games much, but there are a number of my favorites that I’ve played many times.
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest
Yoshi’s Island
Super Mario 64
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (including ports and remakes, I’ve played this over 10 times to completion!)
Majora’s Mask
Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon
The entire Ace Attorney series (even though it’s a story-based visual novel adventure game, I still love replaying it like rereading a good book)
Finally, the game I’ve played the most is:
Super Mario World – I play through the whole game once a year. That’s how much I love this classic!

I used to replay more when I was younger and I had the time, but lately I have too much on my backlog to indulge. Ive never played the second DK Country, and I should get around to that. I loved the first, and I really enjoyed Diddy King Racing.

I think more than any other game, I’ve probably played through Donkey Kong Country more times than I can count. I was obsessed with that game as a kid, and I still love playing it now. Every couple years or so my husband and I will team up and play it together 🙂
