A weekly post updated every Sunday discussing my current writing projects and where I stand with them. This will include any and all work(s) in progress (WIP) be they creative writing, essays/analyses, or reviews of any type.
Project: Story
Title: The Broken Rose
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Fanfiction (FFVII) Novel
Current Word Count: 267,081
Prior Word Count: 266,620
Word Difference: +461
Status: Editing
Progress: Pending 4th edit
I finally finished the third edit/revision of Chapter 10. Since I did so much, I obviously have to do a fourth (and hopefully last) one. I have a sinking sensation that Chapter 11 is going to be a difficult edit, too. I’d started it before insofar as doing some color coding, but then I decided I’d hold off until I did the full edit. There’s never a dull moment in the life of a writer/blogger.

I haven’t forgotten about this (how the hell could I? I keep reading stories that have similar paradigms!). I’m going to put it on my schedule to work on next weekend. I’m not waiting until I complete 13 more book reviews. I’ll just have to figure out how to fit both types of reviews into my schedule, since I also have to do one for the Mass Effect Series.
What are you currently working on? Is it a creative writing project, essay, review, or something else? Have you just started something new or are you wrapping up a long term project?

I’ve been trying to formulate ideas on upcoming reviews. Been busy with work lately, so I end up with a feeling of crunch time many weeks.

And you work some crazy hours if I’m not mistaken with what you’ve told me. It’s so damn hard to find time for things. I’ve wanted to do some test video and audio recording, but something always comes up.

No more video games until you catch up on books reviews! 😛

Noooooo! I may post another tonight. It’s in my drafts and I just have to proofread it. I didn’t before, because I have to post it here and then on Goodreads, sometimes on Amazon, and then I have to do the page/menu thing. Nothing is every easy o.O

Lol. I’ve never posted reviews on Amazon. Is it worth it?

*ponders* I’d say it is! I try to do them for less well known authors, because that REALLY helps them out. You also can build up your own reputation, since people can up or down vote your reviews. You can’t use profanity there though
I found THAT out the hard way lol. They just won’t post it. You’ll get a message saying the review couldn’t be posted and to review the guidelines. You also can’t really post pictures or links, though you can put up links to anything you can find on Amazon.

Some reviews I’m perfectly civil, and some I curse like a sailor lol. I guess they want to be family friendly since anyone can go on Amazon, but it’s not like you can’t shop for dildos on there anyway.

HA. Valid points. Offended by the word fuck whilst shopping for books and dildos.

THINKING OF THE CHILDREN!!!! Have you ever seen some of the hilarious Amazon reviews? The ones for that ostrich head napping pillow made me laugh so hard I started dry heaving.

I don’t think I’ve ever read an Amazon review honestly.

I wish I could locate this nonsense. I think its posted by Cracked or Buzzfeed or something like that. The reviews about the sugar free gummi bears that make you poop yourself are truly fantastic.

currently just wrapping up a couple of reviews for the month. Next month will move onto just clearing some backlog and get back to non review write ups for the blog. Just fun experience with whatever i’m playing at the moment. Grinding out review after review has kind of burned me out, and want to write a bit less objectively and have some free flow for my content over the next month or two.

I hear that…I’ve been so swamped with reviews, it feels like all I do outside of my typical weekly posts. Some of them are more analysis/essay like, but there are definitely more things I want to work on.

Sounds like Chapter 10 is coming soon-ish! Yay!! 😀

It is! I did some more editing tonight, and for the most part it’s small tweaks and changes. Though…I really do want to do some fixes to earlier chapters at some point. Posting things piecemeal is tricky because sometimes you come up with fixes for earlier parts o.O
