This week…this weekend.  I don’t know which one was more of a fail.  I’m going to go with this weekend.  I spent the majority of Saturday on the phone with Apple (which actually has a great customer service department.  No, they aren’t paying me), because my phone completely reset itself when I turned it off and turned it back on.  I wrote out this long explanation, but just deleted it. It…was just a mess. I spoke to four different people at four separate times, because Apple will both call you back and let you call.  The last guy was super chill, and I was on the phone with him for an hour.  I had to update the software on my phone (I was about two iOSes behind), and then restore it using my latest backup…which was from May…of 2016.

I eventually just went to bed upset, frustrated, and pretty depressed because I’d done nothing else the entire day.  I rewatched some Rick and Morty before passing out.  Waking up around six, my phone was finally finished and reverted to a previous state, so I had to (re)set up a bunch of things.  The thought of that made me tired, so I went back to bed, since I had to be up around 9:30, because my brother was picking me and the husband up for brunch in the city (Philly).  That was cool, because the chef is actually one of my classmates, and she was on Kitchen Nightmares, the show with Gordan Ramsay.  Yep, I kind of know a famous person, and holy shit, is she an amazing chef.

But…this turned out to be too much for my CFS riddled self to handle and when we got back home, I spent about an hour redoing my to-do list on my planner app.  That broke the camel’s back, and I passed out on the couch, eventually wandering to my bed when my husband’s loud Destiny playing terrified me woke me up.  I feel bad though.  I was supposed to cut up the potatoes for burgers and oven fries.  Oh well.  I didn’t wake up until 8:00.

What does this have to do with writing?  Absolutely nothing and absolutely everything.  The former, because it literally has nothing to do with writing, and the latter, because it’s the reason this entire weekend was a wash.  The rest of the week wasn’t much better.  It looks like I cut out a bunch of words from the word count, which I did, but I have more to add it.

I’m trying to reorganize my life I suppose so I’m not doing so much in one day or one weekend, but it’s as much of a WIP as the story I’m supposed to be talking about.  I was hoping I could work on it after my “nap,” but even with sleeping most of the day, my concentration is shot.  Tbh I’m worried about NaNoWriMo and how I’m going to make that 50k word goal, but it’s almost like I’m worried about it outside myself in some other far off plane.  It’s a concern, but it’s also like I don’t have the extra brain energy to be concerned.

Anyway…sorry this wasn’t really an update on The Broken Rose.  I don’t have much to say about my progress on it.  I know I deleted things this week, but I’m too tired right now to remember what I removed.  Hopefully, the upcoming week will be better.

Project: Game Review
Title: SOMA
Developer:  Frictional Games

Current Word Count: 5694
Prior Word Count:

Word Difference: 0
Status: Drafting

Did I read anymore of the Peter Watt story?  Nope.  I’m going to attempt to continue that, but I’m going to have to put the review aspect on the back burner so that I can work on my Final Fantasy here collaborative post.  Information about that is if you have no idea what the hell I’m talking about.  I also think the review is going to be split up, because there’s so much to say it’s going to get extremely long-winded.

Blog Updates

I read more of the HTML tutorial, but hit a bit of a snag on the part where you can add links that direct you to other parts of the page.  The instructions didn’t seem to work, and other ones I found on Google weren’t too useful either.  I’ll give it another try when I jump back into it.

What are you currently working on?  Is it a creative writing project, essay, review, or something else?  Have you just started something new or are you wrapping up a long term project?

  2. The last software update for Apple almost killed my phone too. There was lots of swearing but ultimately it retrieved the data on it’s own and I didn’t have to call anyone. I may have thrown it if I had had to as we were about to go play a round of pokemon go and people were waiting on me. =/

  3. Those never-ending To-Do lists are tough. And technology… Gr! That’s really cool that you’re friends with someone who was on Kitchen Nightmares though. I should probably work on my Final Fantasy x 3 post thingy too, haha. Good luck with everything!

    • They are, but I think I managed to remake it better. Much less to do on a daily basis, and instead of adding more on when I have an additional project, I’m just going to replace something with that project until it’s complete. I think that was one of my main problems, and why I was feeling stagnant.

I just made a draft of my collaborative post haha, but then I immediately thought of another idea, but I LOVE punishing myself. Though with this I actually have a ton of notes on it already, so it might not be that bad 🙂

  4. Ugh, I’m sorry things have been so frustrating from the sounds of it. 😦 Hopefully things have improved since you wrote this (I’m days behind on all my internet stuff due to some stressful car stuff this past week that is now finally sorted out).
It’s hard having so many things to do and never enough time to do it. I feel ya. ❤
