A weekly post updated every other Tuesday detailing my current gaming projects. I have an account at Grouvee, which is a site you can use to keep track of your backlog, so please feel free to friend me there!
What I Played
Title: Octopath Traveler
System: Nintendo Switch
I finished everyone’s stories with Primrose being the last. I think her ending panel was my favorite. Of course I’ll discuss everyone’s story and its significance when I do a thorough review.
I still have a ton of side quests to clean up (with new ones emerging after you finish) as well as the four special Job Shrines before I do the final dungeon. It’s pretty obvious what I’m going to face. At least it is if you pay attention to the clues.
I kind of wish the map were more filled out, and online searching has proven I’m not the only one with this thought. I’m wondering if Squeenix left so much empty space for DLCs later. I’d spend money on that.
Title: Just Dance 2017
System: Nintendo Switch
I’m happy I was able to get some dancing/cardio in even if it was just one day last week. I’m trying to set and keep some kind of exercise schedule. It’s…not going that well, because if I have to do anything else that day, it’s a gamble on whether or not I’ll have the energy. I want to see if my Wii controllers still work so I can break out my Wii DDR on that. I’m glad I was able to get three songs in for JD 2017 though. I miss dancing.
What I Demoed
- Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk – It reminded me of this old game Eternal Eyes with how you use puppets as warriors and also of Etrian Odyssey V: Beyond the Myth with how you fill out the map, but it had too much customization for my taste. Plus one of the main characters Dronya is a total bitch to what I believe is her niece Luca, though she doesn’t even allow Luca to call her “aunt.” It seems to be a popular dungeon crawler though, so if you life those and lots of freedom customization, I’d check it out!
- Toy Stunt Bike: Tiptop’s Trials – Hard pass on this one because I’m not very good at it lol. It’s an obstacle course where you have to tilt the controls in just the right way, and I suck at that.
What I’m Watching
Title: Silent Hill
Let’s Player: CJUGames
I have one more video left and was hoping to watch it before posting tonight, but it was late last night and my hubby isn’t home right now, so I figured I’d err on the side of caution. Granted it hasn’t been all that scary, just creepy, but I don’t want to take a chance that the end of the game is going to give me nightmares. I have some theories about what’s going on, and apparently SH has a ton of those behind it. I’m going to continue the series before I delve into that though. I do have an idea how Pyramid Head figures in though, or at least where he might originate from.
This is completely random, but today I found out there was this guy with the dude version of my name who was a total badass. I think he was also a general, so yassss. Anyway, the universe attempted to kill him on numerous occasions and he essentially gave it the middle finger. He was shot like ten times, lost an eye and an ear, fought in both World Wars and another, was shot down over the ocean, taken as a POW, escaped, and eventually died of old age in Ireland. He’s the number one on a list of people who kicked death in the face. I know this has nothing to do with gaming, but I think I covered that in the main part of the post. Now to eat dinner and watch Hulu.

Silent Hill. Oh how it still haunts me!

I’m enjoying it so far! I finished the first one and I started watching the second. What I’ve noticed is how freaking weird everyone in it acts. Like if I were the main character I’d be freaking out so much more lol. I also met Pyramid Head and, uh, he’s interesting to say the least.

It is SO worth it! I spent about $60 on it, but I’ve been playing for around 120 hours, and they’ve all been entertaining. The price might have dropped by now since it’s been out for a while. There isn’t a better game about octopods out there in my opinion (that’s if you like JRPGs). It’s got some foibles, but they’re more annoyances than deal breakers like wanting fast travel in towns and other things.

That’s about £50 then. Hmmmm… I want an epic RPG so, yeah, I shall get this or the upcoming Diablo III. Innit, geez.
