A post updated every other Sunday discussing my current writing projects and any completed the prior two weeks.
Finished Projects: 2
- Book Review: The Bone Doll’s Twin by Llyn Flewelling – 1/18/19
- Book Review: All’s Well That Ends Well by William Shakespeare – 1/25/19
Project: Story
Title: The Broken Rose
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Fanfiction (FFVII) Novel
Current Word Count: 255,229
Prior Word Count: 255,627
Word Difference: -398
Status: Editing
Progress: Chapter 14 First Edit
I’m still working my way through this extensive chapter, but I’m nearing the end. I may end up splitting it after I finish the first edit, depending on if there’s a natural place to do so; however, I’ll still post all of it at once. It’ll just be two chapters at a time instead of my typical one.
Project: Story Audio Recording
Title: Northern Lights
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Fanfiction (FFVII) Novel
Status: Recording
Progress: Recording Chapter 1
I still haven’t had a chance to re-record this, and I’m thinking about reworking my to do list. My voice has also been uncertain because the weather keeps changing. Whenever that happens, my lungs forget how to be lungs *facepalm* I’m hoping I’ll get to do it this week.
Project: Story
Working Title: The High Archon
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Original Novel
Current Word Count: 255
Word Difference: 0
Status: Drafting
Progress: Rewriting Chapter 1
Holy moly, I actually made true on my promise and restarted this. I only have a few paragraphs and less than a thousand words, but it’s a start. Already, I’m thinking about how I’m going to change it lol. I think I might make some of what I’m saying in exposition a conversation between two characters, because that seems way more interesting than me (the author) blathering facts at you :p
In Progress
- Video Book Review: Incognito by David Eagleman – I’m still going through that tutorial video. Not as often as I’d like, but these things take time.
- Game Review: Oxenfree – I changed the days I work on this so I’m not doing it when I’m home alone. Yes, I’m that much of a wuss puss lol. I also re-did my Story Summary. I had one that I’d written myself that starts at the very beginning (before the mise en scene), so I didn’t see a point in using another one if I’m just going to throw in my own.
- Book Review: Top Books of 2018 – I at least have all of the covers in. Now to just fill in the information.
I think I need to redo my task list to not only reflect difficulty level but also time. I’ve noticed I haven’t been able to get everything done because I run out of that. Granted while this is another project and therefore time consuming, it’ll hopefully help.
I’m super happy I was able to at least re-start my WIP, and I feel way more excited about it than I did when I attempted before. This is the most difficult beginning I’ve ever dealt with lol, but every story offers new challenges.

Yay for exciting WIP re-starts! I’ve been (very slowly due to classes, ugh) reworking the start of a WIP . . . I basically had two versions of the first chapter and, to my surprise, liked the first version better. Think I’m going to work the second version into chapter 2 though, so it’s all good.
Looking forward to more TBR and your eventual audio of Northern Lights. These stories are always a nice escape from school stress!

Goal is to work on it today! I have notes scattered all over and it’s just such a struggle.
Aw I’m so glad to hear that! I spent most of yesterday working on revamping my schedule yet again. I’m going to try to do the recording for NL next Friday as long as my voice behaves, which depends quite a bit on the weather, which has been brutally cold brrr! How has it been on your side of the country? I think we’re all getting the polar vortex o.O

It has been cold, but not nearly as bad as it sounds on the east side of the country! Stay warm!

Haha, and now it’s been like 2 degrees F here, plus a nasty wind chill. x.x I want spring!

Ooh, looking forward to your Top Books of 2018 post! 🙂
I’m kind of doing a re-start on my WIP project as well because I just got that Scrivener writing program for my b-day and figured instead of copy/pasting I could kind of go into it all fresh. (I’m absolutely loving the program!) I kind of lucked out that we got blasted with this cold weather and my work was canceled for the week since it’s given me time to learn the ropes of Scrivener and get started with it. 😛

I put my reviews on hold so I can finish it!
I tried Scrivener but I ultimately went with OneNote! You’ll have to let me know how you like it. Neither one of them let’s you search in a way I like, but if Scrivener has other perks I may just switch. I gave it a try again after OneNote, but I’m such a typical Taurus and I hate change :p

I’m really digging it so far. 🙂 I still have a lot to figure out about it but I like how everything is kind of all in one place and there are all kinds of neat features. It seems to be helping me out, I think. 🙂 Haha and I can totally understand the hatred of change. It can be rough sometimes, that’s for sure!

I might give it another try just to see if I like it better than OneNote. I should be able to move my stuff over pretty easily. I’m such a Taurus with this though lol. It’s like “Change?” DO NOT WANT. I mean I do tend to over tip so it makes me look generous 😀
