A post updated every other Sunday discussing my current writing projects and any completed the prior two weeks.
Finished Projects: 1
Project: Story
Title: The Broken Rose
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Fanfiction (FFVII) Novel
Current Word Count: 255,002
Prior Word Count: 255,229
Word Difference: -227
Status: Editing
Progress: Chapter 14 Second Edit
I’m thinking of splitting this chapter into two now that the first edit is done. I’m not quite sure yet because the theme of the title runs throughout so it’s making it a bit tricky. I can see two distinctive patterns in it though, and I think it would flow better if it was broken up. I have only a few notes to either add and/or figure out where else they can go, and I think I’ll make the splitting decision when and where I figure out the best place to do so. Either you’ll have a really long chapter to enjoy or two regular sized ones.
Project: Story Audio Recording
Title: Northern Lights
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Fanfiction (FFVII) Novel
Status: Recording
Progress: Recording Chapter 1
Okay…I still haven’t re-done the recording yet. This month has been ridiculous. I have a bridal shower to go on the 23rd for a wedding I’m in, and I’m helping my sister-in-law plan her baby shower in April so I’ll probably be over her place almost every weekend. That’s not a problem because she lives really close, and I’m so pumped to be an aunty.
I can also only record on Tuesdays and Fridays when my husband is bowling because then it’s quiet, but if I get home too late, I’m too tired to record, and I also have to balance out taking my asthma medicine with having a voice. So there’s a lot involved. My goal is to do it this Friday. I’m working from home because my car is going into the shop for inspection on Thursday. I won’t have to expend energy going to and from work, and after I’m done, I can just set up the microphone and do the recording…ideally.
Once it’s recorded I can work on it anytime because I won’t have to have a quiet house 🙂
Project: Story
Working Title: The High Archon
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Original Novel
Status: Drafting
Progress: Rewriting Chapter 1
I made some notes but not any more progress with writing because as fore mentioned, I’ve been busy (and tired) AF. I do have an outline and game plan. I honestly just need a quiet space to work on that (which seems to be my major issue). So I either need to do it when my husband isn’t around or in the other room so the front room is quiet. I can’t concentrate on writing if there’s something on TV and I don’t like to wear headphones all the time. Sometimes I need to be able to think with absolutely no distraction,s especially since the brain fog has become more of a permanent fixture. I can also move to the bedroom, but then I have to set up shop in there, and that’s a whole other production that sucks energy away from precious writing. This is one of the many reasons I want to move.
This story isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. It’s on my mind all the time, so eventually it’ll be written.
In Progress
- Video Book Review: Incognito by David Eagleman – I’m going to say something surprising. Here it comes. I haven’t had the time to work on this *shock* I still need to continue with the tutorial and figure out some other stuff, too.
- Game Review: Oxenfree – Once I finish my next year end post, I’ll go back to working on this review again.
- Book Review: Restless Bones on Crystal Lake by B. Batiste – Same as Oxenfree.
I redid my task list yet it still does not spark joy. It’s been a busy week, but I still want to start keeping track of how much I get accomplished in a day. I need to post my game review roundup for 2018, and once that’s done I can go back to my regularly scheduled reviews.

Knowing when to Chapter break is so hard! Looking forward to seeing your decision on that. Good luck with everything!

I STILL can’t decide, but I did come to a decision about my original novel as in I’m shelving it until I finish up the edit on this. I’m hoping I figure it out before the status update next week.
