Oh man…do I ever suck at timing. This is a Christmas tag and here we all are on the Ides of March. Except for the time travelers. They’re wherever they hell they want to be. Even though I’m late, I’m still going to have fun doing this tag from Ignited Moth, and hopefully she’ll put in a good word for me with Santa.
Received an ARC and not reviewed it?
I haven’t received too many ARCs, but I did make a point to review them (I think…).
Have less than 60% feedback rating on Netgalley?
Huh? I mean Netgalley sounds kind of familiar, but like a decade ago familiar, and I certainly don’t recall receiving feedback on it.
Rated a book on Goodreads and promised a full review was to come on your blog (and never did)?
No, I’m actually pretty good at reviewing books on Goodreads. I don’t think I’ve said I was going to come back to do a full review and reneged on that promise.
Folded down the page of a book?
What. Kind. Of. Survey, Is, This. Are we interviewing monsters? Are we questioning demons? No, we’re not. Because monsters and demons would still never fold down the page of a book.
Accidentally spilled on a book?
Yes…I spilled orange juice on the copy of Lolita my coworker lent to me, but in my defense, Lolita is about a child rapist, and my transgression isn’t remotely as bad as that. Cid is also guilty of this (messing up a book, not…the other thing). He attempted to clean up poop with Being and Time by Martin Heidegger, but then Heidegger was a Nazi, so I can’t really be too mad. I found that out after I bought the book and read the “About the Author” by the way. I do have a replacement copy, and though I don’t know if I feel great about that, I do know that he’s dead, and I’m hoping not even a penny is going into Nazi pockets 😦
DNF a book this year?
This year or last year because I’ve done both 😀
Bought a book because it was pretty with no intention of reading it?
I can’t say no intention of reading it, because if I buy a book, I’m going to try to read it; however, I have bought books based on the cover alone e.g. Winter’s Tale.
Read whilst you were meant to be doing something else?
Bahaha, of course!
Skim read a book?
Not an entire book, because if I’m doing that I’m not even going to bother to read it, but parts of books.
Completely missed your Goodreads goal?
Not this year or last year, but it’s happened before.
Borrowed a book and not returned it to the library?
Yes. I still have it on my shelf actually: The King Must Die by Mary Renault. I really should return it to the library, but I keep forgetting about it.
Broke a book buying ban?
I don’t set those bans so I don’t have to worry about breaking them 😀
Started a review, left it for ages then forgot what the book was about?
Oh god, yes. It’s why I keep notes on everything I read (watch or play, too).
Wrote in a book you were reading?
Books I’m using for research, study, or books one would use for research or study like Stephen Hawking’s A Brief History of Time.
Finished a book and not added it to your Goodreads?
Not usually? I try to add everything I read to Goodreads and use Goodreads to account for everything I read. There have been some cases where the book was kind of obscure and it’s not on their site or I had all the volumes of a graphic novel in one, but I wanted to count them a separate.
Borrowed a book and not returned it to a friend?
Yes, but only because he wouldn’t take it back! I tried to return The Arm of the Stone to my friend Tommy, and he refused! I have no idea why. Tommy is adorable and weird. I’m sure there have been other instances where we’ve both forgotten about it. I don’t think anyone is hunting me down for an un-returned book.
Dodged someone asking if they can borrow a book?
I don’t think so. I’ll just flat out say, “No,” if I don’t like you and/or trust you as a person.
Broke the spine of someone else’s book?
I feel like I have done this, but I’m pretty sure (or maybe just hopeful) that I replaced it o.O
Took the jacket off a book to protect it and ending up making it even more damaged?
I usually take the dust jackets off, but I don’t damage the book or usually the jacket for that matter.
Sat on a book accidentally?
Yes…it happens when you have books on your couch lol. I leave what I’m currently reading on the cup holder part, but they sometimes slide down to the seat. They’re none the worse for wear though.
FINAL SCORE – Naughty=11 Nice=9
Haha, looks like I’m getting a book about coal in my stocking this year 😀
I’m not going to tag anyone since I’m way late with this, but if you want to do it or save it for this year’s holidays, feel free!
