The State of the Gamer: 3/26/19

Oh shit I never posted this!  I think I just saved the draft lol.  Hilarious.

A weekly post updated every other Tuesday detailing my current gaming projects.  I have an account at Grouvee, which is a site you can use to keep track of your backlog, so please feel free to friend me there!

What I Obtained

  • The Night of the Rabbit – $1.99 @
  • Memoria – $1.99 @

What I Finished

Title: Night in the Woods
System: Nintendo Switch

Night in the Woods coverDate Started: 3/9/19
Date Finished: 3/16/19

I say I’m finished, but I’m actually playing through it again to catch some of the stuff I missed.  Now that I have a better idea of where all to go, I’m going to try to fill out my journal more.  I’m also way better at playing the bass this time around lol.

What I’m Playing

Title: Doki Doki Literature Club
System: PC

Doki Doki Literature Club coverDate Started: 3/17/19

I haven’t gotten to the creepy part yet, but I think I’m picking up foreshadowing for it.  Looking at it as a straight otome game, I’m all about Yuri, though I wish I’d realized the main character is male.  I wouldn’t have picked the name AshRose lol.

Title: Final Fantasy VI
Series Title: Final Fantasy
System: PlayStation 3 (Port)

Final Fantasy VI coverDate Started: 6/2/18

I am finally ready to tackle the Cave to the Sealed Gate!  I just need to make sure I have all the best weapons and stock up on supplies.  I’m taking Terra (mandatory), Edgar, Sabin, and Cyan.

What I Played

  • Piczle Colors – my relaxation game.  I throw on Family Guy and play PC until I’m ready to fall asleep.  I deleted all of my puzzle data so I’m doing them all again.  Really hoping they do an update and add more.
  • StarTropics – they added this to the retro console!  I state saved right at the start of the first dungeon.  This game brings back so many memories.  “Are you from Americola?” Lol.

What I Watched

Title: King’s Quest VII: The Princeless Bride
Series Title: King’s Quest
Let’s Player: Dilandau3000

Date Started: 3/12/19
Date Finished: 3/18/19

Thus ends my King’s Quest run.  Apparently KQVIII has little to do with the Daventry royal family who only make a cameo appearance.  The game was also not well received.  This one had more “modern” 2D animation that you can tell was inspired by Disney as well as the story, but I do like how all of the games are tied together.

What I’m Watching

Title: Twilight Princess
Series Title: The Legend of Zelda
Let’s Player: Olizandri

Date Started: February 15, 2019

I seem to only watch this while I’m working, but it’s a great way to pass the day.  I really want to watch his Octopath Traveler LP, now that I’ve finished that myself, and it’s been a while since I played it.  He’s a really fun LPer who’s always a joy to watch.

I did watch a little bit of Cryaotic’s LP of Night in the Woods, but it just made me want to replay it because Cry missed a bunch of stuff lol.  He didn’t realize you can talk to people until either the icon disappears or they repeat the same thing.  I’m playing it a little bit before bed and trying to hang out more with Gregg.  Bea is still my girl though, so I’m hoping I get the ending where we become closer friends.

Someone convince me to wait until payday to buy FFVII on the Switch.  It’s not like I’m going to even play it right away, since I still have VI to finish, but I neeeeeds it!
