A post updated every other Sunday discussing my current writing projects and any completed the prior two weeks.
Finished Projects: 1
Project: Story
Title: The Broken Rose
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Fanfiction (FFVII) Novel
Current Word Count: 254,376
Prior Word Count: 254,471
Word Difference: -95
Status: Editing
Progress: First edit of Chapter 16
I did so much organizing of the notes for this chapter and the next two. They were blended together in OneNote, and I had to try to separate things out. I actually used the “wrong” picture last week, since that’s not relevant until the next chapter, which concerns obtaining a flower basket. The current one is about the garden mentioned in Chapter 15, and then Chapter 18 has a little bit of action. It’s not quite THAT scene yet (sorry Lightning Ellen), but I promise it’s coming 😀
It’s been a wild few weeks because I was in a wedding yesterday (I’ll post a picture below!). It took a lot of energy but was totally worth it for the pay off. Now I can get back to my mundane life of writing fantasy stories/fanfic as well as the magical voyage of looking for a new apartment. I haven’t had much time to edit, so Chapter 16 is in very preliminary stages. I’m hoping to remedy that this week.
Project: Story Audio Recording
Title: Northern Lights
Genre: Paranormal Romance

Progress: Preparing to edit Chapter 1
I’m still prepping to edit, but I did make an edit file for the first part of Chapter 1 containing only my reading of the text and not my random babble before and after. Let me tell you…it was bit of an adventure. In my infinite wisdom, I moved some of the audio files. This is a huge no-no with Audacity since it can’t play back what it can’t find. This led to lots of googling and attempts to put the files back exactly as they had been. I went from it being unable to locate over 300 to only missing 8, and I took that as a win. If I have to, of course I can re-record, and hell, I may have to do that anyway. The next step is finding the time/energy to begin the edit, which will hopefully happen sometime this week. This is what I’m hoping the timeline will look like:
- Edit Part 1 through Part 4
- Put all audio files together into one big one
- Listen to/edit full chapter
- Add music/sound effects
- Add images
Since I don’t really know what I’m doing, I’m happy this is one of the shortest chapters. It’ll give me an idea and a start on learning the process.
On Hold
- TV Show Review: The Umbrella Academy – I just stopped caring. I had a lot to say right after I watched it in a sort of counterpoint to what I’d been seeing, but it just doesn’t feel as relevant to me anymore. I might revive this when the second season comes out, as it’ll be more in the zeitgeist again, but I’m going to “shelve” it for now.
In Progress
- Book Review: The Habitation of the Blessed by Catherynne M. Valente – I may be finished this, but I still need to edit/proofread it.
I. Am. Tired, y’all. I had the honor of being a bridesmaid in my BFF’s wedding yesterday, and it was hella amazing, fun, heartening, and hilarious. I fulfilled the fat girl stereotype and broke a chair lol. I leaned back and suddenly I felt it…the world coming closer, and I knew I was going down. I felt really bad because suddenly I was the center of attention, which I didn’t even want on my own wedding day, but there I was…one the floor…with tons of people around me. The floor was pretty comfy, too, and I wasn’t hurt (lots of cushioning back there…probably why the chair broke). The place’s staff was worried I was hurt, and I was sorry I broke the chair! In other news I would’ve totally gotten this guy’s number if I wasn’t married lol. We all were in cahoots though to get him and the wedding photographer together, and I just heard they’ve been texting all day ♥
That’s Ally, another of the awesome bridesmaids! I not only got to be in a wedding, I got to make new, amazing friends ♥
Oh shit, I almost forgot. Happy Easter to all those celebrating! I didn’t get out of bed until 4 this afternoon because my entire body hurts #lolsob It’s like “Aw sweet! It’s that ‘I got exercise’ burn, but also I wanna die.” I also know I use humor WAY too much as a coping mechanism, but what am else am I gonna do? Cry about it? If I make people laugh then that’ll make ME laugh.

Oooof! I’ve broken a stool at work before, currently working on the breaking the newer one. In all fairness though, my boss keeps buying cheap ones off of Amazon. That’s a cute story about the staff guy and the photographer. ❤

The guy was one of the bridesmaids’ platonic dates! I thought they were *together* but they were just best friends, and she was helping to hook him up. From what I’ve heard they’ve been texting each other so love achieved 😀

*Patiently waits for THAT scene* 😀
Glad you had a fun time at the wedding! I’m going to say that chair simply couldn’t handle your awesomeness.

I love your dress for the wedding! You look so pretty! 🙂 The last wedding I was in was a few years ago, and I’m much more comfortable just being a guest versus an active participant, haha! A friend of mine got married back in November, and I was more than happy to just sit there and enjoy. Well, don’t feel too bad about breaking a chair! When I was a teenager, I was at church and leaned forward to talk to the boy in front of me and the next thing I knew, CRACK! The entire thing holding the hymnals on the back of the pew fell right off in the middle of mass. Everyone looked at me like I was the spawn of Satan, lol!!

Being in a wedding is work lol. I abhor being the center of attention, but at least everyone at the wedding was nice. If that had happened to me at church, I probably would’ve crawled out like the hellspawn I am lol.

Haha, it really is! After I was the matron of honor at my best friend’s wedding a few years ago, I told everyone I didn’t want to be in a wedding ever again! 😉
LOL well I was pretty embarrassed, but I just laughed it off and said “Sorry” haha…. but I got the hell out of there asap once mass was over!!
