A weekly post updated every other Thursday detailing my current gaming projects. I have an account at Grouvee, which is a site you can use to keep track of your backlog, so please feel free to friend me there!
What I’m Playing
Title: Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl
Series Title: Etrian Odyssey
System: Nintendo 3DS
This game is much harder than the RPGs I’m used to (i.e. Final Fantasy, well after IV at least). By the time I was at the same level there (60 or so) I was wrecking everything pretty easily and at least not needing to heal every battle, but Etrian Odyssey really makes you employ strategy. I’m still getting one shotted by some enemies, especially since I changed my main character’s class from the original Highlander to Landschnecht (sword and axe user). Doing so throws their level back down to 30, BUT you get the difference in skill points. It lowered his HP though so a hard smack will knock him out. I also rested my Protector, which makes you go down two levels, BUT you get all of your skill points back to redistribute. I realized I could put more towards party defense so I can better shield every one. I’m still struggling with two quest bosses, so I need to level up some more before I can take them on (they’re worth 50k ental, the game’s currency, a piece). I believe I’m near the end of the main game, though, since I’m on stratum five out of six in Yggdrasil and there’s only one more floor of the Gladsheim facility. I may replay it in Classic mode as opposed to Story, which lets you choose your classes like prior EO games. My characters are in utter beast mode in Etrian Odyssey V.
Title: Final Fantasy VI
Series Title: Final Fantasy
System: PlayStation 3 (Port)
We bought a new TV so I can finally get back to playing this. My hubs saw a sale for one at Best Buy for $160, which isn’t bad especially for a bigger screen than the broken one. I told him we should put that by the back door to go along with the other TV that’s been sitting there for three months lol.
What I Demoed
- Dragon Quest XI – I’m definitely buying this though I heard the end might annoy me hehe. I’m loving the demo so far, and I still haven’t completed it even though I’ve played about an hour. My guess is it’ll be over once my character leaves his home village. Had I known I was going to play a guy, I might have picked a more guy like name as opposed to Adria, but meh? I’ll probably wait until I finish EO: TMG until I buy it since I’m technically playing two RPGs right now.
What I Played
- Pic-a-Pix Deluxe
Let’s Plays
Still being super lazy about this.
- Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks – I love this game. I hope Olizandri plays the Link’s Awakening remake soon.
- Mario & Luigi: Dream Team – I’ve moved onto Oliz’s Mario RPG Let’s Plays. Eventually I’ll go back to new LPs, but for now, I’ve just been in the mood for comfortable, familiar ones.
The new TV will make playing console games a lot easier now that I don’t have to worry about the volume. It was going to happen before 3/2/20 anyway since I’m taking off that week for obvious reason is obvious.
Oh, I guess I should mention the change of this post to Thursday lol. It just fits better with what I want to do. I can take more time to write instead of trying to squeeze that in before or after this.

I you like puzzle games, I HIGHLY recommend. I think the game itself is less than $10 and there are so many extra puzzles to download, too. You get about 60 or so extra ones for less than $5. It’s one of those games that’s both engaging but relaxing.

Sounds like my type of thing, innit! I got addicted to Tetris 99 a while back. This would also be cool.

I wish you could just play Tetris with Tetris 99. I HATE having to play with others :p

Oh you can, there was a DLC add-on. You get the original Tetris with it now. Awesome game, I also like the 99 others bit. But yeah, sometimes you want the solo focus.

Where where?? I redownloaded it, but I don’t see the option. I wonder if I have to play enough to open it up. I only have the Tetris 99 option. Maybe I need to purchase the DLC. I figured there’d be some prompt. I shall have to investigate! Thank you, kind sir, for putting me on the trail!

It’s in there, madam, it’s… hang on (checking Switch)… well it’s in the “Marathon” section. But you have to get the DLC for it, which is about $10. But you get a bunch of other fancy stuff it, 2 players, CPU battle.
