The State of the Gamer: 12/19/19

<–The State of the Gamer: 12/5/19           The State of the Gamer: 1/2/20–>

A weekly post updated every other Thursday detailing my current gaming projects.  I have an account at Grouvee, which is a site you can use to keep track of your backlog, so please feel free to friend me there!

What I Obtained

  • My Brother Rabbit: $1.99 @ Nintendo eShop

What I’m Playing

Title: Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney
Series Title: Ace Attorney
System: Nintendo 3DS

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney gameDate Started: 11/29/19

Some of my questions have been answered, or, well, more some of my theories have been verified.  I still have quite a few questions, but I’m loving this game.  There’s one more case left.

What I Played

  • Pic-a-Pix Deluxe
  • Adventures of Lolo – Running through this again is quite fun.  The puzzles still make me think.
  • Super Mario World – There’s now an SNES download on the Switch so I of course did so (free with your subscription) and fired up this gem.  I only played for a little bit then decided I wanted to watch a Let’s Play (go figure).  I found one I thought I liked but then the person started to annoy me lol.  If any of my blogger peeps ever decides to stream/LP this, please let me know.  I’d LOVE to watch.

Let’s Plays

  • Mass Effect: Andromeda (Olizandri on YouTube) – I legit do not understand the hate this game received.  While the game is definitely buggy (the version Oliz is playing) that doesn’t diminish it.  I will definitely be playing this myself at some point.  It just seems like a lot of fun.

Thank god for back dating lol.  I worked late on Thursday so I didn’t get a chance to post this last night, but I can just make WordPress post it then anyway.  As mentioned in previous posts, I was having major issues with my computer over last weekend, so a lot of stuff is behind.  They seem to be rectified now, but I’m super wary of doing any updates, and I’m definitely thinking of investing in a gaming laptop some time soon.  Not only could I use it to stream, but I could just have it as my regular writing/blogging machine.  Every time I think of games I want to replay, I think about how I could stream or LP them, and it makes me sad that I can’t.

  2. I can’t think of a good Let’s Play for Super Mario World. Most people are annoying while playing that game.

I’m glad you changed your mind on Andromeda. It depends on how old the Let’s Play is. If it was close to launch then yeah it’ll be buggy. The game runs flawlessly now. For me, it does anyway on my PC. I still need to finish my Ace Attorney on the Switch. I’m so behind with my backlog. I’m trying to concentrate on Dragon’s Dogma, Days Gone, and Star Wars The Old Republic, but I started playing Total War again and now I’m hooked lol.

    • I’m hoping Hungry Goriya or one of my go to YouTubers decides to stream it at some point. I just got irritated lol.

I was always planning on playing it! I’ve had the game for a few years, but I just haven’t gotten around to it. Watching it makes me want to play it even more because there are just so many options and lore I want to look into. The Let’s Player I’m watching is really good and not annoying at all, but with a game like that, there’s always more stuff to explore and there are some choices I’d do differently.

I think he played it not long after it came out since he’s pretty up and up with new releases, so it’s quite buggy, but he’s also not all bitchy about it. It just is what it is and he’s enjoying it for that, which is one of the reasons I really like this guy.

I have Dragon’s Dogma! One of the many games I got from Trash :p I played the original AA Trilogy on Switch, but then picked up some of the games only on the 3DS. I’m almost done Apollo Justice right now, and I’m sure I’ll pick up the next one right after I’m done. They’re kind of addictive.
