A weekly post updated every other Thursday detailing my current gaming projects.  I have an account at Grouvee, which is a site you can use to keep track of your backlog, so please feel free to friend me there!

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney -Dual Destinies coverDate Started: 12/27/19

Oh my god, something huge happened in the fifth and final turnabout.  I’m not sure if this is the DLC I saw or if there’s still another case I can download afterwards.  Most games have four cases with Rise from the Ashes as another notable exception with its five.

What I Played

  • Pic-a-Pix Deluxe

Let’s Plays

I’ve been all over the place with Let’s Plays these past two weeks.  I still haven’t watched any more Death Stranding or Andromeda, though I was just thinking about the former and would like to go back to it.  I also haven’t given up on the latter.  I’ve just been in a “comfort watching” mood so I rewatched more Zelda ones from Olizandri (The Oracle Series and Links Awakening) and now I’m rewatching his Mario and Luigi: Dream Team.  I just kind of want fun, silly, and not too serious stuff right now.

I can’t believe I didn’t mention this in my State of the Reader post but there was a fire at my apartment complex Wednesday night.  It wasn’t my building, and no, I didn’t start it.  Let’s get those nasty rumors out of the way *grumble*  Why would I burn down an apartment building that surely has children and animals in it when there are actual monster in the world?   Just because you’re obsessed with Targaryens, avenging one winged angels, and creepy “Fire Walk With Me” poems doesn’t mean you’re an arsonist, sheesh…

This is one of the pictures I took from my bathroom window.  It was really bad, but thankfully no one had life threatening injuries, though some people did have to jump from their balconies 😦  The management company has been working to get the displaced into new homes, and I’ve been assuaging the fears of my friends, some of whom insist I move immediately because the apartments don’t have fire sprinklers *rolls eyes*  One,  do not fucking tell me what I have to do.  That is the quickest way to get this bull to dig in her hooves and lower her horns.  Two, I can’t just up and move at a moment’s notice.  We are saving to buy a house, but that’s something that’s going to happen when it can happen.  Finally, I have anxiety around sprinklers.  It’s…kind of weird, but I’m always terrified they’ll randomly go off.  Whenever I’d stay in a hotel, I’d be so afraid of that even though I know it’s very rare, and I couldn’t live in a place with them even though intellectually I know they’re a wonderful safety measure.  I found out that there is a phobia about pipes and such, which other people have, and finding that out is so validating.  I’ve always had this weird thing about bathrooms.

Going back to silver haired fire people (wtf is with that btw?  Like wouldn’t silver be more associated with ice?  Why is Frozen one of the few things to do that?), yes I’ve seen the newest trailer for the FFVII Remake.  It looks beautiful, and I wish I could feel excitement for it.  I love seeing everyone else’s, but I just…can’t.  I talked about this on Twitter.

At least there’s excellent TV.  Speaking of which, is anyone else watching Picard??  Also, The Good Place finale is streaming on Hulu.  I’m going to watch that today, and the last part of BoJack Horseman’s final season is back.  I saw the “Good Damage” episode and that shit was too fucking real.  I was in tears because I UNDERSTOOD.  Then there’s Twin Peaks: The Return, which I’ve been dutifully watching on DVD daily.  I’m not even halfway through, but I want to finish asap so I can hop on the page I joined without fear of spoilers.  I need more insight on what the fuck is going on lol.  I know it ends on a massive cliffhanger, and I’m hoping it comes back soon.  At least I wasn’t one of the original fans who had to wait 25 years with that ending, but still.

Yes, this is backdated just like my State of the Reader post was.  It’s been a rough week.  I called out sick on Friday, and I’ve just been dealing with lots of brain/mental things.  Frankly, I don’t trust the shit sponge in my head to do the best thing for my survival, so I’m trying to distract it with TV and games.  It…works so long as I’m doing it.

I guess we’re all caught up on TSN’s life as it were.  Are you planning on buying a PS5?  I always wait a bit when new systems come out in order to avoid any initial issues.

  2. Dramatic on the fire. When I was living in Salford Quays, a Morrisons supermarket went up in a ball of flames across the road. That was pretty scary. I wondered why there was an orange hue outside and then whammo! Fireball.

  3. In my neck of the woods, I swear the news reports an apartment fire at least once a week, if not more. And I get where you’re coming from about not wanting to move, especially if your saving up for a house. Priorities are priorities!
