This chapter has some interesting challenges, and I may end up with two versions of it. I saw someone do that once on Fanfic.net. I was talking with The Ink Garden about my wacky timelines/AU scenarios, but it was only scratching the surface. There are more branches than a tree, which is…kinda fitting when I think about it. I’m trying to add any additional text in my first edit instead of after, because it just doesn’t make sense to do any kind of editing prior to including additions.
Project: Story Audio Recording

Progress: Adding sound effects to Chapter 1
Okay, so I backed up a little with this, meaning I realized I shouldn’t be working on the images yet because I don’t have the audio completed. Like the fore mentioned with adding text in TBR, it doesn’t make sense to work on the images without having the sound completed first, so as much as I’d love to put everything together, I need to have things together first (if that makes any sense). I am happy I did the title images though because I really like them, but I definitely think going back to the audio was a good move.
I spent about a week working on the opening sound. I wanted it to sound like scampering, but the effect I had just seemed off. It was more consistent, and my husband said it sounded more like nails being dragged (or someone taking a piss lol) as opposed to what I was looking for. I got the subscription to Epidemic Music, but unfortunately I couldn’t find what I was looking for there, so I wound up on site called Pond5, which is holy shit expensive. It’s $200 a month and $1000 per year for a sub!
Thankfully, you can buy effects a la carte, but I still wound up dropping around $40 for six of them. I’m very happy with the sound though, so I think it’s worth it. I may have to go back there unless I can find royalty free kitten mews somewhere else.
On Hold
- Year End Post: Best Shows I Watched in 2019 – Like last year I decided to shelve this until later, though last year’s later never came. I wish I had more time to talk about the shows I watch, because most of them are very interesting. I want to try to come back to this, but for now, shelved.
In Progress
- Game Review: Final Fantasy VI – I’m at the three way split part of the story summary after the invasion of the Returner’s hideout. I’m almost at the introduction of my favorite character, but I think I’m going to do the parts in length order starting with the shortest, so I won’t get to Celes until after I finish up Terra, Edgar, and Banon’s journey.
So the Squeenix store had the vinyl of the FFVII Remake soundtrack on sale, and it sold out before I could preorder it. We’re talking less than a day because I got that email around 2:30 and went to buy it around 7. GONE. I’d be more bummed if it wasn’t available on YouTube because some nice person recorded it. Granted, I doubt the legality of that, but it is what it is. I still want to own the vinyls myself, so hopefully they’ll be back in stock at some point.
