Date Finished: 3/11/20

That DLC case about the orca was really good and pretty tragic tbh.  It was definitely worth the money I spent on it.

What I Played

  • Pic-a-Pix Deluxe
  • Art of Balance – I fired this up for a little bit and actually managed to complete a few boards I couldn’t before.  I’m hoping it’s updated at some point, since it’s a great concept for a puzzle game.

Let’s Plays

In my grand tradition, I started watching Dual Destinies as played by Olizandri, though I started it while I was still in the midst of the DLC.  I figured he wouldn’t get to that part until long after I completed it myself, and boy was I wrong lol.  He actually played it as his second case because it fits better chronologically.  There’s a major development that occurs in the last case that changes character dynamics, so I’m actually glad he did that.  The timing of DD is kind of all over the place anyway with the second and third cases actually take place before the first and then the last occurring in the future.  It gets a little confusing, but makes sense in a way.  Due to this I wound up watching his LP of Mario Odyssey again the other day while working because I didn’t want to spoil the end of the orca case for myself.  I wound up getting curious and looking up some facts about whales because I was wondering how they sang underwater as well as how long they can hold their breath.  Orcas can do it for around 15 minutes and humpback whales are around 60-90.  It’s freaking amazing.  I listened to some whale song videos, and there’s just something so haunting, primal, and beautiful about it.  It sends chills down my spine.  Wolves singing does the same thing.  Humans aren’t the only creatures that make music.

I still haven’t gone back to Andromeda or Death Stranding, but I’m sure I will.  I just want comfort/comfortable stories right now.

I’m actually not playing anything right now because I haven’t started Spirit of Justice yet.  I probably will tonight.  I’m still working on my review of FFVI, which is the reason I’m telling myself is why I haven’t started playing FFVII yet.  There’s honestly no reason I can’t start playing it on my Switch while working on the review, buuuut I’m also thinking I’m going to wait until I play the Remake, which I definitely will, then afterwards watch someone (hopefully Oliz) do a Let’s Play and then play the original on my Switch.  I need to be emotionally prepared to play FFVII, and because in my head I know I’m going to play it on April 10 that’s what my brain is prepping for.

I hope you’re all staying safe amid the pandemic concerns.  I’ve been working from home since Wednesday and my company is now having everyone who can doing so starting on Monday until who knows.  I’m very fortunate to have a job where I can do this.  Many people do not.  I don’t want to talk about this too much, since I’m tired and have other things to work on, but I do discuss/retweet how I feel about it on Twitter (@ash1rose) if you want and don’t yet follow me there.
