This has the lowest rating out of all of the books in the trilogy, but I enjoyed it.  I think I might know why people didn’t, but I thought the overriding message paired well with the delectable writing style is enough for four stars.  What amuses me is I saw a video about Phossy Jaw the other day.  It’s an actual thing, and it’s just as horrible as Cooney describes in her book.  So yeah, this novel was a really good castigation of shitty capitalists/capitalism as well as portraying a spoiled rich girl who isn’t to the core.  Also queer and trans representation, though I’d want an actual trans person to decide on if the latter is decent.  Not my lane, loves.

I’m starting to get into this now that I have more time to read it.  Instead of starting a new Kindle, I’m reading this at lunch.  I want to keep going, but I only have so long.  At the very least I get to read a bit of it every day, and I have two (I think?) renewals left.

I just realized that I’m watching Castlevania at the same time I reading this lol (I’m on the 3rd season if you’re wondering), so it’s vampires all the way down.  I finished the first set of Jonathan Harker’s letters and I’m on Mina’s .  Wtf is up with the asylum doctor?  I’m sure it will all tie in, and it’s keeping me curious.

*deep breath*  So I got to a line that made me sit and think about my whole life for a minute.  I can’t even tell you what it is here because it cut too deep and that wound is really raw.  It basically summed up everything I feel and believe and you can’t just get smacked in the face by something like that.  I mean Northern Lights has these random kicks in the stomach then face that I forget about, but it’s obviously stuff I’ve thought about; Singh fucking clotheslined me with a truth lurking in my unconscious that I never put into words, and a girl needs some time to process that.

I took an angry nap after work today because I was so goddamn frustrated.  Woke up to find out I’d been placed in Facebook jail for a comment I made over a month ago on a post about some old white dude looking at a teenager’s ass.  When her mom rightly confronted him on it, he said, “Dress like a whore, get looked at like a whore.”  On the post I said “Men are fucking gross,” and that my friends is what got me a 24 hour ban.  This is the second time this has happened.  Before I said “Men are trash.”  Apparently Nazis, racists, sexists, rapists, transphobes, and people of their ilk threatening others isn’t enough for a ban, but me expressing outrage about the most privileged group being gross is.  Mkay.  And no the two not fucking equivalent, don’t even try to @ me about that.  

I hope you’re all staying safe while still getting into necessary trouble.  I’d like to say I’m going to start doing cardio and weight training, but I’m probably just going to continue sitting on my ass and eating chocolate like the trash empress I am.  When shit really goes to fuck, eat me first if you can’t catch any billionaires.
