A biweekly post updated every other Wednesday detailing my current reading projects and what new titles I’ve added to my to-read list.  Title links go to Goodreads, and if you have an account there feel free to friend me!  I’d love to see what you’re reading and/or planning to read.

I didn’t get the foreshadowing exactly right, but I was kind of close.  I’m also glad it wasn’t what I feared, because I probably would’ve thrown the book against the wall.  The end seemed a little rushed especially with how much the event that happened there was hyped, and everything was wrapped up pretty quickly, but honestly?  It didn’t remotely detract from my enjoyment.  I’m not sure if the next book in the series will be my next read, but I will be reading it sooner rather than later.

I’m gonna be honest, I haven’t touched this, but I have seen the name “Heidegger” quite often lately lol.

Title: The Valley of Amazement

This book has replaced both my Kindle and my physical fantasy/fiction since I finished the Nalini Singh.  Because there are no rules anymore, I haven’t had to return it to the library (which I’m certain is closed), so I’m trying to read a bit every day.  It’s…honestly horrifying what happened to Violet and reading about some of her experiences is hella triggering and would certainly be more so for people who might’ve gone through the same.  That being said, Tan’s mastery of language makes it impossible to put down.

Title: Dracula
Author: Bram Stoker
Date Added: May 16, 2015
Date Started: February 13, 2020

Cover of DraculaMedia: eBook/Kindle
Progress: 28%

Nope!  Haven’t read any more of this either.  it’s a shame, but I’ll get back into my reading once I finish FFVIIR.

I haven’t been doing as much reading because, well *gestures at FFVIIR*  The thing is if I’m doing something besides playing it, I can’t really concentrate because I know I could be playing it.  In fact, I gotta go right now lol.  I hope you all have found some kind of quarantine distraction to keep you busy, and if you’re in the trenches, I hope you’re able to stay as safe as possible.

  3. “Because there are no rules anymore, I haven’t had to return it to the library…” I have had a book and a set of DVDs checked out for almost two months, and they just extended their due dates until *the end of June* without me saying anything. I mean, I’m glad I won’t have to pay a billion dollars in fines, but the whole situation is just surreal.

Anyway, I’m glad you’re still readying and enjoying The Valley of Amazement. I haven’t read it yet, but I absolutely adore Amy Tan’s writing.

    Enjoy FFVIIR!!

    • I haven’t received ANYTHING from the library. My assumption is because it’s closed I probably won’t. They usually send emails reminding me about due dates, but I’ve gotten nada.

The Valley of Amazement is some of Tan’s finest work, but it is brutal.

Yassss, I’m nearing the end. One of my friends told me Hojo was somehow even worse, and I’m kind of terrified to see HOW ugh. As soon as I finish checking my comments I’m going to dive back in. Do you have a copy? Have you been able to play?

      • I haven’t played FFVII or FFVIIIR, and I know I’m missing out haha. I have a to-play list a mile long, so I said I’m not allowed to purchase more games until I at least get through five of them… I’ve seen mixed reviews in headlines, but I’ve managed to go 23 years without spoiling the ending for myself, so I’m still holding out! haha
