A weekly post updated every other Thursday detailing my current gaming projects. I have an account at Grouvee, which is a site you can use to keep track of your backlog, so please feel free to friend me there!
What I’m Playing
Title: Final Fantasy VII Remake
Series Title: Final Fantasy, Compilation of Final Fantasy VII
System: PlayStation 4
It has finally happened. The day so many of us were yearning for arrived in the year of our Lord (that Lord being Sephiroth of course) 2020…during a pandemic when I have no other fucking thing to do. FINALLY a good portion of my fantasies have come to fruition, and I dove headfirst into this epic of epics, and yes, it is AMAZING. Every time Sephiroth showed up with all his tall, gorgeous glory I started screaming and tbh it almost felt like a zoom meeting where you’re just wait for the cat to appear.
I obviously have a shit ton to say about this game, most of which I’ll save for when I review it, but it is just so much fun to play even with the non-turn based battle. I was worried about that, but Classic mode makes it manageable for someone like me. My days essentially consist of me working (from home) then I log off, drape myself in my FFVII blanket as I bid my husband adieu to adjourn to the bedroom and play FFVIIR for about two hours until the camera makes me too nauseated/dizzy to continue (yep, I still have that problem…in fact I’m dealing with it right now as I write this as I just came from playing). Then I work on editing The Broken Rose and the audio recording of Northern Lights, meaning my days are just full of FFVII (I play FFVIII, too, but I’ll talk about that below when I get to it). My plan is to play through the Remake myself then replay the original while I watch Olizandri’s Let’s Play of the Remake. That way I can tie together what happens at the end with what I see throughout.
I haven’t noticed major differences, but rather just elaborations and expansions. It’s currently hitting all of the plot beats, but greatly expanding the world. Midgar was never my favorite place in the original, but I’ve come to like certain aspects of it. Squeenix is also not remotely shy in the social commentary department, which I love.
Title: Final Fantasy VIII (Remastered)
Series Title: Final Fantasy
System: Nintendo Switch
I’m at the point in the game where the Garden is mobile and I have (limited) free reign of the world. I’m currently on the Trabia continent about to visit Shumi Village. I already obtained Tonberry as a GF, avoiding Odin for the time being since he’s a pain in the ass when you’re trying to mug items from often rare enemies.
Title: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice
Series Title: Ace Attorney
System: Nintendo 3DS
I actually haven’t played this since I finished the main story. There are a ton of DLCs I still need to do, and I probably should in case the LP I’m watching has them lol. I’ve just been so busy with other things.

Let’s Plays
I’ve been keeping up with Olizandri’s daily FFVIII Remastered as I play through it myself. He’s also starting one for FFVIIR, which is fantastic since I was looking to watch one after I finished. It’s funny because I’m quite a bit ahead of him for FFVII (I’m in Chapter 15 whereas he’s around Chapter 3), but he’s ahead of me for FFVIII since I only started that now due to his LP. I’m also watching his Spirit of Justice Let’s Play usually while I’m working.
I’m hoping to finish FFVIIR either this weekend or on my birthday next week when I took off. I’m on Chapter 15 out of 18, though I’m a little annoyed because I might’ve seen a spoiler about the end as in who/what you might fight, and I’m very irritated though *sigh* it makes SENSE, but it’s not the “f” word I’d like to do with that particular individual. Can’t I just cuddle with my demons/angels? Solve planetary problems THAT way?

During all the craziness going on in the world right now, there is nothing wrong with surrounding yourself with Final Fantasy! 😉
