Progress: Second edit of Chapter 23
I’ve used this picture before, but there is an excellent reason and method to my madness. I discovered one of the readers/commenters on AO3 was none other than the artist of the glorious piece above BethanyAnnie who is both on Deviant Art, and ArtStation. She is a freelance illustrator and concept artist from the UK per her ArtStation account, and I’m seriously thinking about commissioning her for artwork (if I can) if I decide to go the self-publishing route with any of my stories, BUT there’s more. She’s on Archive of Our Own as OrtumnAllbones with a story called Parenthood’z Nightmare that I’ve bookmarked, which I found out during our conversations where she OFFERED TO DO ARTWORK FOR THE BROKEN ROSE. Um ♥♥♥ So we’ve been in correspondence once I finally figured out what image I want. She says she doesn’t charge for fanworks, but I’m honestly hoping she’ll allow me to pay SOMETHING because artists should be paid for their work. She also has a society6 account. Visual art is one of the most important mediums we have. There would literally be no movies, no cartoons, no fashion, no anything without it. The least I can do is spread the word when someone shows me such generosity ♥
I am almost finished the second edit, and I’m really thinking of splitting this chapter in two. The only problem is I have no idea how I’d do that. There really isn’t a good place to cut it. While it seems as though there are two disparate parts, they sort of flow together. Currently I’m at 30+ pages, and it’s dense. A lot happens in this chapter. Once I finish up the second edit, I’ll have to figure it out.
Project: Story Audio Recording

Length: Novel
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII

Progress: Adding pictures for slideshow
I haven’t been updating the progress above, because I’m way past adding sound effects lol. I’m finally finally done with the audio and am now on to working on the images. I’ve been having some issues with the timing seeming to change depending on whether I view it full screen or not on Windows Movie Maker, and I need to figure that out before I move on. Once you’ve set the timing for an image, if you have to go back and change it, it throws everything after it off, and that would be a disaster. So I need to make sure the timing is down for each image before I move on to the next.
In Progress
- Book Review: Dolor and Shadow (Tales of the Drui) by Angela B. Chrysler – Currently editing my review on this, so it should be in my Finished Projects next time
- Game Review: Final Fantasy VI – I’m back to working on this, too. I’m at Terra’s reawakening in Zozo as she realizes her past.
I’ve been wanting to do something with my short story for a while now, but it’s still in the planning phase. I’d need to re-edit it since it’s been a few years, but self-publishing it has crossed my mind. Shorts are easier to do so with (at least I think they are). Aaaand I’m chatting with my author/editor friend right now about it lol, so we shall see :p

I just gotta say, I absolutely LOVE your appreciation for art and the time and work that goes into it. ❤ It's honestly refreshing to see. So many people just expect people who can draw to make them things for free and get really nasty towards artists who just want to be paid for their work. It's one thing if the artist CHOOSES to do something for free, but a lot of people just seem to expect it. I couldn't imagine being so entitled and demanding something like a free oil change or haircut or something. lol

I was talking to Mr. TSN about this! I think if you are a creative you understand how it works. Not to say you HAVE to be a creative, but I know how long it takes to write/edit something, so why would I expect anything else to take less effort? I honestly think people believe you can just draw something in five minutes and be done. Um, I don’t know much about how to make art, but I can tell when something takes a lot of work even if I don’t know the ins and outs. And a lot of the things I do (fanfic, blogging, reviews) are non-paid. I’m just doing it because I love doing it. It takes a lot of work BUT I HAVE A DAY JOB THAT PAYS ME. Artists are out here making things that are literally the foundation of things people take for granted: movies, fashion, etc., yet art is seen as a frivolous pursuit and they should be happy for exposure. FOH.
I’m really really hoping she lets me pay her, but for now I can at least tell people about where to find her ♥
