The artist of this week’s pic is a long time favorite of mine.  She, too, writes Aeriseph and is a talented illustrator to boot.  Her story Border of Taboo is actually available in physical format on Amazon (???) which…is now making me very curious how she managed to avoid copyright issues with Squeenix???  I may have to investigate this.

I sent her an Ask on Tumblr.  She’s in France and they may have different copyright rules over there.  I would love to do something similar for Northern Lights if not The Broken Rose, too, but definitely NL.  I did print out one copy of that a few years ago.  I was going to send it to my fangirl friend, but then we had a falling out so it wound up with the lovely Eyes of Seraphim (whom I don’t know is still actively blogging) whom I know IRL.  While some companies allow the publication of fanfiction, I’m like 1000% sure Squeenix is not one of them lol.  Maybe one day, but definitely not today in the states.  My investigation continues because if this is (ever) possible, I’m going to be all about it.  It’s not even for monetary reasons.  It just opens up a world of possibilities, and I’m already planning all the steps I’d take.

Anyway, I may actually do the split thing with this chapter.  One less explicit version and one just super smutty lol.  I’ve already saved an additional chapter file for this nonsense.

Progress: Adding pictures for slideshow

I spent a couple of days figuring out two pictures, and sometimes that’s the way it goes.  I’ve broken the 100 image barrier and I’m not even at 20 minutes.  I’m not really upset though.  This is like solving a gigantic puzzle.  I usually have the type of image I want in my head, but sometimes that doesn’t translate to me being able to find it or maybe just not know how to search for it, so I have to modify my parameters.  I think I do alright?  I want to say it’ll get easier once I get to the part where she finds Sephiroth, because I have so many pictures of him, but sometimes a surplus isn’t a bonus.  I just keep on swimming.

I’m thinking I might try to do a Dropbox type of thing with this?  Like I have no idea how that works, but from what I minimally understand, you can put files in and give certain people access to it, so anyone who wants to see this can; you’d just have to let me know.  I was also thinking of making it available through my Patreon but not for any price.  You’d just need to follow me on Patreon and you could see it, but I think that still might involve YouTube, and I have no idea if it being private (of sorts) would still cause an issue.

In Progress

  • Game Reviews: Final Fantasy VI – Finally finished the summary.  I’ve been trying to organize my notes for the story analysis.  I think I might start with the overall/overarching themes and then branch out to talk about the characters.  I still have a monumental task ahead of me.
  • Book Reviews: The Last Thing You See by Marie Batiste (Rachel Dixon #1) – I’m pretty much done with this review.  I have a few more things to add, but if I have time/energy I’ll have it posted today.

Anybody else been feeling rough this past week?  I’ve been extra tired and just extra down.  I don’t know if it’s universal or just me.

We need to find a new vet for our cats.  I found out last week that our old one retired.  I suspected COVID had something to do with it, and upon finally checking my mail, I found a letter from him proving I was right.  He was older to begin with and the necessary new procedures just weren’t jiving with him.  He’s had his practice since 1966. 1966.  That’s 14 years before I was born.  It’s such a shame.  I really liked him, plus he was right across the street so less stressful for my kitties.  I contacted one of the vets they recommended (the office is still open) but they’ve yet to call me back.  I’ll have to try again next week because Garnet really needs to go.  They both need their shots, but our little princess has been vomiting up nearly every meal and she seems to be licking the fur off her back feet.  We’ve always suspected she has trauma from past abuse for various reasons, but we need to do something to help her.  Maybe anti-anxiety meds are in her future.  At the very least we were able to get her laying in her bed again by moving it up to the level of the cat tree she likes.  Granted this was after she threw up all over the blanket that was currently there, but we still should’ve done that a long time ago.  I’ll have to get a picture of that at some point, but until then please enjoy one of her inside the cat tree on another pillow.

    • I got an appointment for this Monday! I had to call them back because I’m sure my message got lost in the shuffle. They have limited time for appointments so we’re only taking Garnet. With the pandemic and my old vet retiring, they and the other vets in the area are picking up the slack.

She replied but I’m still not sure. She told me apparently she didn’t really worry about it, because there are FFVII doujinshis being sold at Squeenix official cons, so I honestly do not know. You’d think they’d have something to say about others using their intellectual property, and I’ve seen them go after game mod stuff, but maybe they just care about gaming media? The whole thing is very confusing because people can sell/make money off fan art, but fanfiction has always been considering the bastard child even though it can take just as much if not more talent.

    • I called them again this Friday! The woman on the phone was very nice. She said that Garnet (our little princess’ name) was her birthstone, so I know she was born in January lol. I’m taking her in on Monday at 5:30 after work. I was going to have my husband do it, but he apparently found a job or it’s a working interview that day? Either way that’s good because it’s been six months. We also wound up making her boiled chicken with rice. She still threw up a bit afterwards, but we think it’s because he overfed her. If we don’t give her too much she seems much better, so that’s something to keep in mind. I really wanted to try the chicken and rice before Monday so we could tell them if that worked.

      • Haha yup, Garnet is my birthstone too! (January 30th) It’s such a pretty stone. My mom always thought it was funny both her kids wound up with red birthstones (Garnet for me and Ruby for my older brother). ^_^
Congrats to your husband about the good work news! 😀
I hope Garnet’s vet appointment went well and that she’s having an easier time with her food. ❤
It's strange because my cat actually just had that problem too with throwing up her food. She's on a grain-free diet and we'd been giving her the Crave food for a while. Everything was fine, but then we bought her the fish flavored one and she wasn't as excited about it and started with the vomiting so we got her usual chicken one again and she actually enjoyed the food again but continued vomiting. We were going to take her to the vet but decided to try one more food switch before that, and got her the Taste of the Wild turkey flavor from their Prey line and the vomiting stopped immediately. Breaking her meals up into 4 smaller meals throughout the day rather than her 2 normal ones has always seemed to help, but even when we did that with her Crave food she was still vomiting, just a little less. I'm just relieved the food switch has worked for her. It's so hard with our pets not being able to have them tell us what's wrong. ❤
