A post updated every other Sunday discussing my current writing projects and any completed the prior two weeks.

Current Word Count: 250,284

Progress: First edit of Chapter 27

I was able to add in some of the text from my notes the other day, but I still have a little bit more.  It’s…interesting to say the least.  I have this tendency to find myself writing/editing, at least thematically, about currently topical events.  What do I mean?  Well…there’s a conversation I’ve wanted to add for a while where Aeris asks Sephiroth if there’s anyone he didn’t regret killing, and the answer to that is, uh, well the person in real life in question is not…doing…well.  Anyway, I’m hoping to finish and post this within the next two weeks so I can at least participate in some part of Preptober.

Length: Novel

Progress: Adding pictures for slideshow

I’m so close to the part where I’ll need a fuck ton of Sephiroth pictures lol.  Thankfully, that won’t be much of a problem since I have like 1500 on Pinterest and maybe a thousand on Deviant Art?  The issue is going to be organization since I know I have a ton of dupes, plus they’re not in any kind of order.

In Progress

  • Game Reviews: Final Fantasy VI – I’m almost finished with Terra’s part of the analysis or at least the main part.  I’m starting with her then I’m going to move onto Celes, since a lot of their symbolism is tied together or comparative.
  • Book Reviews: The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton – I’ve pretty much finished the review part and I now need to do the analysis.

Wow, this has been a week.  I became obsessed with this show called The Boys on Amazon Prime.  It is…wow.  If you haven’t seen it and you’re a fan of comics/comic book movies and you like the deconstruction of that genre, it’s a must watch.  It’s yet another narrative I’ve added to my essay list in the FFVII comparative section, but I’ll also be talking about it in comparison to The Last of Us 2 and FFVI.  I cannot wait until this upcoming Friday, and I really wish I had more time to write all of these essays.

As for our house hunting, we may be seeing this gem this weekend.  I love this house or at least I love what I see in the photos.  I’ve done my budget a ton of times and from what I can see we can afford it.  My issue oddly seems like too many choices?  We’re in a better position than I thought, because I’m super cautious and apparently lowballed where we were and what we could do.  I’m still thinking cautiously because the mortgage on this place is a bit higher than my highest, but according to the budget we’re good even when I need to pay my student loan again.  Idk.  I think we’re going to look at places and then make some more assessments.

I would’ve had this out sooner, but I needed to figure out how to use the classic editor since that new one is default and I hate it.  It…was so much easier than I realized.  In my annoyance at CHANGE I didn’t even notice the option so I wound up sending an irritated email to Support and then almost immediately having to send a follow up that I’d figured it out haha *feels like an idiot*

WATCH THE BOYS!!!

    • So THAT one is actually a no go. Turns it it’s “under contract,” which I didn’t know meant an offer had been made on it. Oops lol. We DID see another one today, and I liked it, but my husband is pickier. It ticks all the boxes for what I need, plus it’s our first home, so I know we’re going to need to make some compromises. But I also don’t just want to buy the first house I see especially if we don’t both love it.
