I’m getting really into this. It reminds me of Dune, but with a more interesting and female main character lol. I’ve been talking to the friend who lugged this book around with her all through high school, and she had a friendly “I told you so” about my Dune observations (it’s also another reason why she has no interest in Dune). I’ve read Dune, which I enjoyed, but I wish I’d been into sci-fi back in high school because I would’ve loved this.

This one is a lot of fun. I’m really hoping that usurper duke goes down in flames. Maybe…catches a disease or something :p

The wrench was thrown in…kinda. Walter thought his search for the book was over, but it seems like it will continue. I wonder if he’ll find his father at the end of his search for the book.

Ugh, I’ve been so bad with reading this. It’s the book I most put off because it takes a lot of energy to read since it’s for research and I need to take notes. It’s not the same as casual reading.
I still need to move my music to my new computer and figure out how to keep iTunes from crashing it again.
Two of the books I purchased “this week” I actually preordered. The FFVII book and The Ippos King. I’d been waiting for the later for years. I LOVED that series, so I can’t wait to read it. I’m currently using the Vinge book from the library as my “Kindle.”
There was something else I wanted to mention, but my grandma brain forgot lol. I would recommend reading Poe’s “The Masque of the Red Death.” It seems…topical lol. I might need take some time to do so myself 😉

I read/reviewed The Luster of Lost Things back in 2017, and you just reminded me how much I loved it!🥰

It’s so beautiful and winding. It’s one of those books you just savor chapter by chapter.

Poe is one of the classics in my reading rotation, but I might take some time and make it part of my Halloween reading 😀
