A weekly post updated every other Thursday detailing my current gaming projects. I have an account at Grouvee, which is a site you can use to keep track of your backlog, so please feel free to friend me there!
What I’m Playing
Title: Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight
Series: Etrian Odyssey
System: Nintendo 3DS
I made it past the third stratum’s boss Scylla, and also found out how to pronounce her name. I always thought it was said “SIGH-luh,” but in (at least the game), they pronounce it “SKY-luh” or “SKILL-uh” (I forget lol). Okay…according to the interwebs, I was more right with the “correct” pronunciation. The “c” should be silent since it’s next to a “y,” but then again the name is from Ancient Greek, but more importantly the game devs can take liberties. Anyway, I was able to beat her the second time around after I looked it up. I should’ve realized the ice block puzzles on the way up would’ve factored into the boss fight. There are four of them you can hit her with, which takes her HP of around 23k down by about half. She was still pretty challenging even though she has a set pattern.
Afterwards, you can’t go forward any more in the Yggdrasil Labyrinth; you have to go back to the ancient ruin of Ginnungagap (yeah, there’s a lot of Norse Mythology in these games. The two main characters come from the Midgard Library, which is featured in Millennium Girl, too) in order to complete an important story element, and I messed up reaaaaalllll bad there lol. There are these FOEs (really strong enemies you can see on the map) that giant slug monsters pretending to be walls. As long as you face them and walk backwards they won’t advance on you, but if you turn away, they move two steps. My uncoordinated ass accidentally moved toward them because I’m bad at direction and couldn’t figure out which way was away while turned around, and I wound up stuck between two them them. Needless to say, my ass was kicked, but the game at least saves your map data, and I know what to do next time around. Oh, forgot to mention, you can’t leave this particular area until you make it to the end, so yeah…there’s that.
Title: World of Final Fantasy Maxima
Series: Final Fantasy
System: Nintendo Switch
I broke out my Mirage chart, but I have no idea what the hell past me meant when she highlighted certain cells in different colors. She didn’t leave a legend for current me to follow.
I reached my case maximum last time I played, too. You can only hold 180 Mirages in total, which means you can’t actually have a Mirage for every single Transfiguration (think Pokémon evolution). I had to delete one of my duplicates, and I’ll have to reexamine my plans. I was going to get a Mirage for every transfiguration, but not any more.
What I Played
- Picross 4 – Damn…I’m almost done with the Megapuzzles for this one lol. I hope they release another Picross or have some DLCs, which would make even more sense.
- AVICII Invector – This has turned into my “relax” game.
What I Watched
- Super Mario Sunshine (Olizandri) – I honestly thought this was a longer game, but it only took like eleven videos or so to finish.
- Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney Investigations (Olizandri) – Omg, I’ve been waiting for him to play this game. I’ve watched all of the others through him (after playing them myself). I figured he’d get to it one day. I promised my friend I’d watch the anime I bought a few months ago of the series, but my new computer doesn’t have a DVD drive. I could watch it in the other room with my PS4, which is what I’ll have to do I suppose.
Ooommmgggg I’m soooo tired. It just hit me in the face lol. I was going to stay up until midnight to watch the season finale of The Boys, but I don’t know anymore. I might just wait until after work tomorrow. Maybe see if my BFF wants to do a watch party or something. I think I’m going to slide over to Twitch to watch Hungrygoriya. I just got the notification about that, and I am WAY too tired to read any Shakespeare tonight. She’s playing ActRaiser. Freaking score!
