A post updated every other Sunday discussing my current writing projects and any completed the prior two weeks.

Finished Projects: 1

Project: Story
Working Title:
The High Archon
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Original
Length: Novel
Status: Preparation
Progress:
Setting up notes in Scrivener

Holy shit…there’s a new story in the status lol.  I’ve talked about this one before I shelved it for a while, but I’m back at it now that The Broken Rose is finished.  This is the story I wanted to use TBR as a test run for.  I attempted to do it for NaNoWriMo a few years ago, but I wound up scrapping the whole thing and starting over.  The first chapter was boring, and I needed to do something else.

Now that I’ve downloaded the trial for Scrivener and gone through the tutorial, I know I definitely want to use it to organize this novel.  I desperately need that for this one as it has more world-building than I’ve ever done before.  I need to have that firmly established before I write, so I can be in the correct mindset as I do so.

I don’t know if I’ll do a different pic every week, but right now I’m working on notes for the heroine/MC, and that’s the picture I use for her above.  It’s really close to how I picture her in my head except she has grey eyes and more pink lips.  I attempted to do some color editing on Pixlr, but I hath not the skills lol.

I won’t lie; Scrivener is a bit complicated with a lot of moving parts, but the tutorial is very comprehensive and I keep it open as I’m adding my information.   I think this is why I didn’t get it years ago, but now that I need a better organization, I’m glad I gave it another chance.  What I like it while it has templates for different types of projects, you can still modify them to fit your needs.

Project: Story Audio Recording
Title: Northern Lights
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Fanfiction
Length: Novel
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII
Status: Editing
Progress: Adding pictures for slideshow

Definitely had fun these past two weeks with timing pictures fading in from white with the sound of a bell.  I need to do some image switching next time I work on this since a prior pic better captures a later moment.

In Progress

  • Game Reviews: Final Fantasy VI – I’m still working on Celes’ part though now I’m  the opera and how the gambit they do is similar to the one in Phantom of the Opera, which is something I noticed when I first played because Phantom has been my favorite musical for that long.
  • Book Reviews: The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton – I drafted the part I really want to talk about, and I think I might finally be in the home stretch for this analysis/review.

I was supposed to go out to dinner for my dad’s 72nd birthday (which is today), but he texted me on Saturday saying exactly what I was thinking: the rona is back in full force and neither of us is trying to get sick.  So he’s staying home and watching football, while I’m here doing, well, this lol.  Me and my brother were going to see about paying for his meal, but since that’s not happening we’ll have to think of something else.  I hope you all are being careful.  It’s pretty much how it was in March/April aka back to square one.  He also called it the “Trump virus,” which I think is fucking hilarious and apt.

  2. You might try the Procreate or Magic Eye Camera aps. Procreate is one of the best art aps you can get and offers way more than you need to change eye color, but Magic Eye Camera does only eyes — change the color, add make up, do animal eyes and weird stuff — and is easy to use. It was free when I got it 4 or 5 years ago.

    • Oooh I’ll have to give that a try! There’s a way to do it on Pixlr, but it doesn’t seem to work for me. I might see if I can find a video tutorial on it. I tend to follow those a bit better because I can see exactly what the other person does. But the program you’re talking about does sound like something I’d have fun with ♥

  3. The Trump virus is a great phrase that should be spread! Get him back for calling it the China Plague, racist twat! I’m glad you’re being careful so you and your dad can have many more birthdays 🙂

  5. The “Trump Virus” is very fitting, it being awful and refusing to go away no matter how much we don’t want it around. lol It’s sad to see how much more time and effort he’s willing to put into bitching, whining, and coming up with pointless lawsuits than he has ever bothered to spend trying to handle/contain the virus.
On a more pleasant note, yay, Scrivener! I personally love it. It’s so great for organizing everything into one tidy file. I know there’s still a lot of features I probably haven’t even discovered yet but I really enjoy it. 🙂 I’m so excited about the project you’ll be updating us on. Can’t wait to learn more about it! 😀

    • Oh and he lost the one in my state so go PA! Now apparently he’s trying to shut down Twitter (again) for starting the #DiaparDon hashtag. Now while I don’t condone making fun of people who wear diapers (we can criticize that shit bag without doing so), it’s like dude…don’t you have a country to run? Oh wait, you’ve NEVER done that.

Omg it’s fantastic. I’m still learning features and the best way to make templates, but I’m enjoying it so much!
