A post updated every other Sunday discussing my current writing projects and any completed the prior two weeks.

Finished Projects: 0

Project: Story
Working Title:
The High Archon
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Original
Length: Novel
Status: Preparation
Progress:
Setting up notes in Scrivener

This week’s pic is a dead ringer for the titular character of the story and the male main.  Not…so much the clothing, but the paleness and ethereal beauty.  If this artist took commissions (and if I didn’t already have an artist I wanted to commission first) I’d absolutely tap them to do work.

The worldbuilding continues.  I pulled out all of my old notebooks so I can organize and incorporate what’s in them into Scrivener.  This is like twenty years of ideas that all started because I wanted to write about a city of goths among other things lol.  So there’s a bit of parsing that’s necessary.  Right now I’m trying to expound on and flesh out all of the languages I came up with.  I’m not Tolkien by any means (I’m literally only fluent in my native English, and I could maybe blunder my way through Paris if the Parisiennes weren’t too impatient with me), but I find them fascinating, and I made some words, syntax, and rules for a few of them, mostly based on Latin and German because those are my favorite languages to sing in (Carmina Burana and Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy anyone?).  Anyway, it’s a long process, and I haven’t even touched on the main worldbuilding I need in order to start writing, but any progress is good progress.

Project: Story Audio Recording
Title: Northern Lights
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Fanfiction
Length: Novel
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII
Status: Editing
Progress: Adding pictures for slideshow

I’m the slightest bit stuck right now; nothing too concerning especially considering I’ve been stuck before lol.  I always figure something out, but it may take a few days.  Sometimes my utter lack of talent in the visual arts field makes for some creative solutions, and I think that’s what’s going to happen here.  I’m in the last fifteen minutes, which means I’m in the home stretch.  I have thirty minutes so far and 177 pictures.  Even when I’m “done,” I still have a bunch of artists to ask permission from, but I’ll deal with that bridge when I reach it.

In Progress

  • Book Reviews: The Riddle of the Wren by Charles de Lint – I honestly thought this was going to be one of those quick reviews especially since it’s DNF, but apparently I had a lot to say about useless men/dickhead dads and missing moms in the short time I did read it lol (though, to be fair, I always do).
  • Game Reviews: Final Fantasy VI – I maybe wrote one paragraph in this over the past two weeks.  It’s been hard to muster up the energy.  Ah well, I persevere.

I did some Christmas shopping yesterday as planned, and I have it on my schedule to do more today, but I also didn’t get out of bed until 3:00.  I’m really achy today, possibly a fibro flare.  My head hurts, too, ugh.  I’m staying hydrated and petting Cid whom I call “my little, purring serotonin machine.”  It’s like instant.  No matter how shitty I’m feeling, petting the kitties makes everything better.

Oh fuck…Christmas is literally next week, ughhhhhh.

  2. I hope you feel better soon! Cats always help . . . I was having a hard time sleeping because of anxiety, and one of my cats cured it by snuggling and purring.

The male main of your new story sounds swoonworthy! And the worldbuilding sounds intriguing so far, too. I wish I had the patience to build a language (and I agree that Carmina Burana is so awesome).

    • Cid does that sometimes! When he wants to. We’ll cuddle until he gets sick of me then he runs away lol.

Ahh, I LOVE that picture I found. There’s that one and another one of an actual goth guy not an artwork. Pretty much this is me taking the characters from my first novel and writing them in another situation, but it’s kind of a sequel, and I have to try to figure out if I can make it make sense without the first one lol. Why do we do this to ourselves as writers? As for the language it just kind of happened and I LOVE punishing myself 😀 I need to work on that this week. I think I have working on the novel scheduled for Friday. I cannot believe Christmas is next week D:

  3. Holy shit, when you say “Christmas is only next week” I feel like I got ran over by a bunch of reindeer. lol I can’t believe how quickly December is flying by. It’s like even Time itself is sick as hell of 2020. Haha
And yay for the kitty power of healing. They really are fuzzy little wonders when they’re not busy being absolute demon spawn, aren’t they? 😛
That’s so cool about the language stuff you’re working on for your book. ❤

    • It’s literally in a week. I don’t know what’s eating time up so quickly, but it needs to STOP. Maybe the universe is doing us a solid and yeeting 2020 as quickly as possible.

Omg…they were fighting today because Cid had to be a gigantic nudge to Garnet in her bed below his. She was swiping at him so hard she fell out, and then when she got back in the entire bed fell down. Poor little princess. He’s such a butt. He’s currently in the top bed now snoring. I bought this little unicorn jacket for him, but he’s too fat for it! I’m hoping it fits Garnet, but we’re sitting in the bed so she can lay on it and get her scent on it. It’s super soft, and I’m hoping she’ll wear it.
