<–The State of the Gamer: 12/3/20 The State of the Gamer: 12/31/20–>
A weekly post updated every other Thursday detailing my current gaming projects. I have an account at Grouvee, which is a site you can use to keep track of your backlog, so please feel free to friend me there!
What I Purchased
- Cars 3: Driven to Win – $7.99 ($29.99 original price) @ Nintendo eShop
- Curious Cases – $3.99 @ Nintendo eShop
What I’m Playing
Title: Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight
Series: Etrian Odyssey
System: Nintendo 3DS
Whenever I get kind of stuck at a part, it makes it harder for me to get motivated to play it. What I’m trying to say is I haven’t picked this up in the past two weeks.
Title: World of Final Fantasy Maxima
Series: Final Fantasy
System: Nintendo Switch
Date Started: 8/30/20
Date Finished: 11/27/20
Currently still grinding all of my Mirages up to completion. Well…one of each type. I usually will put on a let’s play or something while doing this since grinding is gaming busy work. I want to do this before I tackle that fourth, aftergame dungeon.
What I Played
- Golf Peaks – I finished the one puzzle I was stuck on, but I haven’t picked it up since.
- AVICII Invector
What I Demoed
- Picross S5 – I honestly haven’t picked up my Switch in a few days, so I had some news to go through. Saw this one available as a demo and downloaded it. I’ll probably pick it up this week. It’s only $9.99
What I Watched
- Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages (Olizandri) – This is what I’d been watching during the day while I’m working and also as background for grinding in WOFF.
- Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons (Olizandri) – Just finished this today. I’ve been rewatching these because they’re comforting. I’m probably going to watch his Link’s Awakening again next. I usually think of these games as a trilogy, even though it’s only the Oracle ones that are literally linked. Maybe because they’re all outsourced (I think Awakening is anyway…)
- Man of Medan (ChristopherOdd) – Almost randomly started this to fulfill my “watch a new LP” needs. I honestly forgot this was a sort of sequel to Until Dawn, which was a game I had on my list to play. I may just watch a LP of it now considering all of the jump scars in Man of Medan hehe. I’m really, really liking it. The graphics are stellar, the characters are interesting, and the story is engaging. I saw a few people in the comments complaining about the voice acting, but…that’s how people that age would talk. It seems pretty realistic to me *shrug* Will probably watch another episode after I post this.
Everyone and their mother (ha) has been tagging me in the Smash Bros. news over the past week because of course they have lol. I actually just watched the trailer introducing Sephiroth yesterday. I was under the impression the images I saw of him impaling Mario were fan made memes. No, no they were not. Sakurai also tweeted one of the Great General’s moves. It’s…literally called “down-aeirith,” and, I quote, “it’ll kill you instantly so watch your back.” I wish I were lying, but there was no chill to be had this day. I’ve never played Smash Bros., and I don’t intend to buy it, but I wouldn’t be averse to going a few rounds it if I were so asked 😉
