A weekly post updated every other Thursday detailing my current gaming projects. I have an account at Grouvee, which is a site you can use to keep track of your backlog, so please feel free to friend me there!
What I Purchased
Nothing this week.
What I’m Playing
Title: Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight
Series: Etrian Odyssey
System: Nintendo 3DS
I think I played this once in the past two weeks. I leveled my characters up to 50, and I was going to give the boss another try just to see the best strategy, but it was late by the time I got to level 50 so I left it for the next session…which hasn’t happened yet.
Title: World of Final Fantasy Maxima
Series: Final Fantasy
System: Nintendo Switch
Date Started: 8/30/20
Date Finished: 11/27/20
I have all of the Mirages and only need one more character for my Who’s Who. I think that happens after you defeat Brandelis twice, which is the last thing I need to do. I’m hoping they do more DLC stuff for this. The game has so much potential.
What I Played
- Picross S5 – I finished up the colored puzzles and I’m now onto the more advanced Mega ones.
What I Demoed
Nothing demoed this time around. I looked through the latest one, but nothing struck my fancy. I bet I still have some demoes on my system like Fitness Boxing, which I really should give a try.
What I Watched
- Valkyria Chronicles (Olizandri) – So happy to see him playing this. Someone gifted it to me and I played a few hours, but the strategy aspect was not to my liking even though I loved the characters and the story. This is why I love LPs; I get to experience games I either can’t or don’t have the time to play.
- The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (Olizandri) – I think I’m about halfway through this game. I really like it. It’s different from other JRPGs. There is an overarching plot, but it’s a lot more subtle than say a Final Fantasy (at least by the same play time). It’s more about the two junior Bracers Joshua and Estelle, the people they meet and help, and the missions they do around the world. It’s much more of a slow burn with the main narrative, and it’s refreshingly different.
- Resident Evil 2 (CJUGames) – I watched the first two episodes with Claire and it’s going a lot quicker since he’s already gone through a lot of the same with Leon. It’s pretty awesome that you get to play the little girl Sherry, too.
I need to figure what I’m going to play after I finish WOFF. It’s supposed to be the original FFVII which I have ported on my Switch. I think I want to get my written notes for that into OneNote before I start though so that I’m not repeating observations I already have. I found even more notes for VII in one of my old journals. Just a few lines, but I still want to make sure I have them saved somewhere. However, I’ve been feeling the itch to play What Remains of Edith Finch, even though I’ve watched a let’s play of it. It’s such a beautiful game, and I’d like to experience it again and for myself.
You ever notice how you tend to listen to sad music when you’re feeling melancholy? Not only that but happy music tends to get under your skin because it feels like it’s trying to bullshit you? It’s like someone saying “Don’t be sad!” and you’re like “OMG WHY DIDN’T I THINK OF THAT HOLY SHIT YOU’VE CURED ME.”
I honestly think the writers of this reality aren’t even trying any more. They’re either rehashing old shit or pulling complete nonsense out of their asses.
I think I’m going to pop over to Twitch to watch HG play some games. That’s always such a great experience.
