A weekly post updated every other Thursday detailing my current gaming projects. I have an account at Grouvee, which is a site you can use to keep track of your backlog, so please feel free to friend me there!
What I Purchased

What I Finished
Nothing these past two weeks.
What I’m Playing
Title: Bravely Default II
Series: Bravely Default
System: Nintendo Switch
Date Started: February 28, 2021
I started watching a Let’s Play of this while I’m playing it. I’m far enough along that there’s really no danger of seeing something before I get there myself. I don’t even think the streamer has reached where I am in his playthrough yet let alone what he’s posted on YouTube. I’ll talk about it more in the What I’m Watching section, but I brought it up here to say I definitely could’ve done the jobs better. I pretty much shoehorned Gloria and Elvis as casters instead of branching out, whereas in the LP he has Elvis (originally a Black Mage) as a Vanguard main with Black Mage subclass so he’s essentially a spellblade. I wish I’d done that instead of pigeonholing both him a Gloria, but it’s not like it’s too late.
I’m currently in Chapter 5, which might be the last or penultimate chapter of the game. Either way I finished up a big story heavy section and am currently catching up on side quests. I finally reached A Rank for B ‘n D, the card game, then almost immediately jumped to S Rank. I attempted an optional boss that I knew I couldn’t handle prior, but still got my ass handed to me lol. I’m not longer remotely shy about looking up strategies, and in watching the LP I see that the stronger enemies do respawn. I still have some I haven’t beaten yet, and I’ve found a few ones that are out of my league. I’m not sure how long I’ll be doing the side quests, but I’ve only been back to two of the towns, and I still have a lot to do.
This game has given me my money’s worth, and I will definitely be replaying it.
What I Played
- Picross S3
What I Watched
- The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC (Olizandri) – I watched just a little bit of this today. I still like it, but I’m just not as into it. I wanted to see it before I switch to Trails in the Sky, though I’m unsure how connected the two series are.
- Bravely Default II (Olizandri) – I knew Oliz was going to play this lol, and I’m so happy he did. I like to watch any game I play after I finish playing it, because it gives me the chance to just concentrate on the narrative and pick up things I might have missed. I can easily pause a video and take notes. It’s also really useful for tips. Oliz is having a much easier time than I did with the fights since he’s spreading the Asterisks (jobs) around better than I did. It’s also just fun to watch. He’s streaming it on his Twitch and posting a video to YouTube daily. I don’t watch the Twitch stream since that’s further along, plus I want to see things in order.
I may start watching CJUGames’ let’s play of Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs at some point. I asked Trash, formerly Cheap Boss Attack, if it was as psychologically fucked up as SOMA and apparently it’s not so I might give it a try. Frictional Games makes them both. Okay…I just googled it to make sure I had the name right, and AMFP is apparently the sequel to Amnesia: Dark Descent, so I should probably watch that first. Also the dev is The Chinese Room, which is the same company that did Dear Esther. Wow, I am very interested now. I think because I was skimming the review of SOMA that’s still in my drafts. Despite the fact I started that literally years ago, I don’t hate it like I usually do my old writing lol. I was actually on my A game with that. One day I’ll finish it…
It’s almost the anniversary of the release of FFVIIR, which also happens to be my BFF’s birthday (4/10) haha. Those two things don’t have anything in common; I just find it funny. I really want that mobile game that will go through the story of the entire Compilation to come out so I can stop being ashamed of what I don’t know.

I finally got to the end of Spyro and then got frustrated and quit for what I thought was the night. That was 2 weeks ago.
This is why I suck at beating games. D:

I will do the same thing. I’m actually kind of at that point with my Etrian Odyssey game. I’m kind of stuck in a grinding loop where I need to beat this one boss, and I’m kinda over it. I want to go back, and I might after I finish my current game and another one, but the difficulty in that series is SO much.
