What I’m Playing

Title: Bravely Default II

Date Started: February 28, 2021

I’m closing in on the end.  Well I’m about to face the penultimate boss then there will hopefully be some more side quests afterwards.  I randomly found one after finishing up a big mission with the Crystals involving me essentially going to hell and beating up the devil.  Afterwards, it took me forever to find the last treasure chest when it was literally right near the beginning of the dungeon.

I’m probably going to give the boss another try tonight.  She beat me at my first attempt, but not as badly as some of the others.  I did some leveling during the side quest, got some job point orbs from the boat quests, and I think I can take her.

• Picross S4 – This updated so I booted it up, but I didn’t see what the difference was.

What I Watched

• Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs (CJUGames) – I had it on good faith from Trash (on Twitter, formerly Cheap Boss Attack on WP for the noobs)  that this was less of a existential mindfuck like SOMA and more of an atmospheric scary game.  I’ve been laughing my ass off at CJUG calling the monster(s) “man bear pig.”  While it’s not scary like SOMA, the idea behind it is still supremely fucked up.
• Bravely Default II (Olizandri) – Oliz is up to Wiswald on YouTube.  I haven’t been watching Twitch because that’s further along (though I don’t think he’s as far along as me).  He’s doing a much better job than I am on leveling and taking out bosses.  I’m trying to be better with my jobs.  There has to be more game either after the next boss fight I’m going into because I still have cards to win.

Another sleepy day.  I managed to not pass out after work, but it was difficult.  I might take some caffeine pills since I’m currently working on a billion stories now lol.

Olizandri is playing the Atelier games right now (or at least the first one), and I really want to watch it, but it’s something I want to play, so that might be my next JRPG play so I can.  I do want to eventually go back to Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight, but the difficulty curve on the EO games is so brutal.  I don’t want to give up on it, but when there are games I can make progress in, I’m always going to defer to those.
