Title: Psychology and Alchemy
Series: Jung’s Collected Works
Author: C. G. Jung
Date Added: July 20, 2019
Date Started: April 9, 2021
I think I read about two paragraphs a session with this, because there’s just so much to absorb. I haven’t even gotten to anything alchemical yet lol; I’m still in the introduction which is about the religious and psychological problems of alchemy. Again, I’m really considering jumping back and forth between these heavier volumes. Like after I finish the introduction for this, I might read the next chapter of Ireland’s Immortals then after that maybe start something else. I don’t know; I need to figure out a good system for it.
Title: The Library at Mount Char
Author: Scott Hawkins
Date Added: August 10, 2016
Date Started: March 31, 2021
Media: eBook/Kindle
Progress: 92%
I literally don’t know what to say about this book. It’s one of the best apotheosis narratives I’ve ever experienced, but it’s so much more than just that. It’s about the need for revenge and defiance when the latter has been kind of planned for you and the struggle to remain human and to think humanity is relevant in the face of all of that. I’m honestly not sure how I’m even going to review it.
Title: The Oedipus Trilogy
Series: The Theban Plays
Author: Sophocles
Date Added: July 25, 2020
Date Started: March 18, 2021
Media: Paperback
Progress: 18%
The last note I took on this was me rambling about how Oedipus is about being fucked by fate, but not knowing it until it’s too late, because you were fucked from the start, and I got super sad about that so I stopped reading #lolsob
Title: A Sky Beyond the Storm
Series: An Ember in the Ashes
Author: Sabaa Tahir
Date Added: November 1, 2020
Date Started: March 17, 2021
I’m starting to get more into this because it’s starting to focus on the primary couple whom I’m invested in.
Okay, so do you ever get like overwhelmed with your obsessions? Like, ugh, how do I explain this…so I was invited to this Discord server for FFVII specifically Aeriseph, which has been AMAZING. Like having people to talk to about my niche thing is absolutely the best, but there are so many ideas flying around that it’s making me literally tired, and when you have that many people, you also have disparate ideas and arguments. Not bad arguments where people are nasty, but disagreements and points of view, and it gets too “loud” for me. I lose track of my own thoughts, so I’ve had to take a break, but of course I’m also worried I might have said things that were untoward and/or cringe at some point. Ah anxiety, ADHD, and being neurodivergent am right?
Anyway in some good news I freaking love the desk elliptical the hubs got me for my birthday. I can just throw something on streaming and do it for at least twenty minutes. You’d think “oh you’re sitting, it’s not that challenging,” and you would be wrong lol. I’m actually thinking of take a break today because I was too tired afterwards last night to work on anything and that made me sad. The goal is of course to be able to take walks and get back into running (if my knees allow), but now I’m just happy I have a way to exercise ♥

It doesn’t 100% relate but currently, I’m obsessed with replacing my wardrobe. Specifically, with a couple of horror movie clothing sites I’ve found. However, the husband just switched jobs so we have to watch our spending for a minute and IT IS KILLING ME.

Ahh, is it a lesser paying one or you’re just being careful until you know what’s going on? I’m always like that myself. I want to know what we’re dealing with in reality before I make any plans.

Just making sure all the bills stay paid first until he starts getting paid a full week. He trained for two days this week and he was unemployed for 2 weeks before that, so I’m just being extra cautious. But once the money starts rolling in, ya girl is buying herself at least one new shirt. 😉

Yuuuup, you’re cautious like me. I need to see what the “new situation” is before I take any risks. Once he found a job, I no longer had to feel guilty about my book, video game and random bullshit spending 😀

I can’t wait to get back to that! lol. I’ve also been holding off since before Christmas on buying myself stuff because Ignited Moth and I haven’t been able to see each other to exchange presents yet. Memorial Day weekend though we’re having a cookout at her parents house. 🙂
