A post updated every other Sunday discussing my current writing projects and any completed the prior two weeks.
Finished Projects: 1
Project: Story
Working Title: The High Archon
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Original
Length: Novel
Current Word Count: 676
Prior Word Count: 676
Word Difference: 0
Status: Drafting
Progress: Chapter 1
I’ve been stuck in a stalemate with this. It happens when there’s just too much. My notes are currently spread across Scrivener and OneNote, and I was drafting the story in Scrivener. I need to put all my notes in one place, and I decided I’m going to draft the story in Word like my other ones. So now I need to move things from OneNote. I haven’t entirely figured it all out yet, but I have a plan, and that’s better than nothing.

Title: Northern Lights
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Fanfiction
Length: Novel
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII
Status: Editing
Progress: First edit of Chapter 3
This is the more difficult editing project since I finished the story five plus years ago. and I have better insight to FFVII now. There was a tweet I quoted today about how so many people misunderstand how grey Final Fantasy VII is and I felt that. It’s why I’m doing so much research. It’s why there are so many various stories and ships and fucking shipping wars (ugh). It’s why I get into heated arguments with people about a certain defense and have to walk away because it gets too close to something I don’t want to deal with, but in reality the discussions/debates about FFVII are a microcosm of the same ones I have about other world issues. There’s so much more nuance than many either can see or will admit. Anyway…I’m making sure I consider and incorporate some of that nuance into my latest edit of this not only for the audio recording, but also to update the story itself.

Progress: First edit of Chapter 3
As mentioned before this is my easy editing project hehe. It’s a long chapter though, and I still need to be awake enough to edit and not just read.
In Progress
- Game Reviews: Final Fantasy VI – Currently in the editing phase of this, finally! I’ve made an editing checklist (because of course I have). Whenever I do a bunch of corrections, I like to do another edit to make sure what I altered prior works. I wound up editing the Introduction three times. I need to do a second edit edit of the Gameplay section, and if that goes well I can move onto the Story. I’m probably going to try putting links in the article itself so people can navigate, since it’s still over 20k words o.O
- Book Reviews: The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North – I made decent progress on this, too. I’m still working on the review part, but I feel like I have my notes adequately split up for that.
I went back to my Squarespace site again. I need to buy it so I can continue working on it. Part of me wishes I could just pay someone to do it, but the problem is explaining what I want in a way humans can understand lol. I’d rather just learn how to do it myself. I’m going to see if I can watch the tutorial videos prior to buying the website so when I purchase the site, I know what the hell I’m doing.

That’s a good plan to watch some tutorials before you start paying for your site. 🙂 I’m glad we live in an age where information is so much more readily available at all times. I feel so envious of these kids sometimes that have literally had the world at their fingertips since they were little babies. *shakes fists angrily at the youths* lol
Hopefully you’ll be able to learn everything you need to know to make it just how you want it to be. ❤
I've been consolidating a lot of my notes/scraps of writing lately too. It's definitely making things easier in the long run.

I think I might end up just buying it in a few weeks or so. I COULD watch the tutorials, but honestly I should’ve done that when I was still in the trial stage since a lot of them assume you still have access to it gah. Though I could probably YouTube some of them; I tend to work better if I’m doing something at the same time I’m being told. It’s not too expensive actually. You just have to pay for it yearly.
