A post updated every other Sunday discussing my current writing projects and any completed the prior two weeks.
Finished Projects: 1
Project: Story
Working Title: The High Archon
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Original
Length: Novel
Current Word Count: 771
Prior Word Count: 774
Word Difference: -3
Status: Drafting
Progress: Chapter 1
Slow going is better than no going. I’ve spent the past few weeks figuring out ascot/tie knots as it pertains to status/standing because that was a thing in my first novel that this one is the sort of sequel to. I remembered I had a site saved with a bunch of different ways to do it.
I’m down three words, but that’s okay, too. It means I was at least working on it lol. I’m hoping to get back to drafting within the next two weeks and really make a push in November for NaNoWriMo. Like past Novembers I’ll be taking a blog hiatus to concentrate solely on writing. I’ve been debating extending it to December as well and coming back in the new year. Granted I am only doing these updates biweekly, but I do think I need to do another re-examination of my to-do list and figure out the best schedule for projects.
Project: Story Audio Recording
Title: Northern Lights
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Fanfiction
Length: Novel
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII
Status: Recording & Editing
Progress: Second session of Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 edit finished
I recorded the second session of Chapter 2. I was hoping I could say I’d recorded the third and last, but I was too tired both Tuesday and Friday when I could’ve have. I’m hoping to do it this upcoming week then I can work on editing et al.
I finished editing Chapter 3 and need to make it its own document so I can put in the audio recording notes. Yay progress!
Project: Story Audio Recording
Title: The Broken Rose
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Fanfiction
Length: Novel
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII
Status: Editing
Progress: Adding in audio recording notes
I’m working on the audio recording notes by session. This one is broken into five sessions and I think I’m on three? I do one session per editing, er, session lol. It’s about two pages per since I realized that was the amount I could read before my voice started to go.
In Progress
- Game Reviews: Final Fantasy VI – I’m on the third edit of the World of Balance section of the Story Summary. It’s going well enough that I don’t think I’ll need a fourth (thank god…).
- Book Review: Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn – I really should’ve organized my notes before just jumping into this one lol. I had some very strong feelings about the ending, but they’ve cooled due to time and seeing other examinations of it. It comes down to the fact that it doesn’t matter what the truth is; it only matters what people believe, and that’s also such an integral part of the FFVII narrative that I can’t help but stan *sigh*
I’m super achy today. I think it’s a combination of the weather changing (it went from 80 to 60 like it saw it a cop), fibro, and, well, time of the month. Hey, it happens to like half the world’s population! I also figured out my desk elliptical is death on my knees, which I’m super annoyed about, but the day after I use it, they hurt so much. I was hoping it would be low impact, but I think the constant motion for forty-five minutes is just no bueno. I think I’m going to cut it down to thirty and see if that makes a difference.
So who is doing NaNo this year? I should probably do some set up for that.

I just feel perpetually tired anymore. Like no matter how much I sleep/rest, it’s never enough. I think it’s burn out though, plus change in the weather, plus my monthly too! Lmao.

It sounds like burn out. Ugh, it sucks so much. As a chronic fatigue person I know how frustrating and annoying it is especially when you’re used to having energy. I usually get super tired when Daylight Savings Time ends even if it’s fall back. Idk it throws me off. I wish the damn weather would make up its mind.

It’s been crazy weather-wise in Michigan. I’m not sure how you could live here and not believe in climate change. I think we’re going to be in for a strange winter this year.

I have to remember that Michigan borders Canada. Sometimes I remember that and I’m just like whaaaat? But you get lake effect snow or should because the Great Lakes are like right there.
What I don’t get is how so much has changed since I was a kid. Like that was 30-35 years ago and it’s DRASTIC. We used to have cold Halloweens. It was full on winter by November. Now the seasons are pushed back. We maybe get winter in January/February and it can go into March. And it’s not just me being anecdotal. They have evidence that shit has changed.

Where we’re at, we don’t see much lake effect snow. (We’re close to the Ohio border.) My dad literally lives in what is called the snow belt in northern lower Michigan. So even though he is in the middle of the land, lake effect snow carries all the way to him. But even up there, the weather has changed. When we first moved up to where he lives, we would get literal FEET of snow in one go. Now it takes months for them to get maybe two feet.
I feel like we’re about to skip most of fall weather (boo) and head into an early winter from the feel of it. It’s 36 degrees this morning with frost.

We’re just yo-yoing between extremes right now. It’s in the upper fifties which is good I guess for Halloween/Trick-or-Treating, but I miss having an actual Fall.

We just had the nicest day we’ve had for Halloween in recent memory. Usually for us, it rains or is super cold. But I will take it because it made for a nice day in Hell. (We went back to Hell, Michigan.)

I always hated when it rained on Halloween. I’m glad it was nice this year for the kiddos! Back in Hell huh :p

Yes, it was so much fun. One of the best Halloweens in my book. 🙂
