<–The State of the Writer: 4/3/22         The State of the Writer: 5/1/22–>

A post updated every other Sunday discussing my current writing projects and any completed the prior two weeks.

Finished Projects: 0

Project: Story
Working Title:
The High Archon
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Original
Length: Novel
Current Word Count: 11,282
Prior Word Count: 11,282
Word Difference: 0
Status: Outlining
Progress:
Reorganizing & Worldbuilding

I spent the past two weeks organizing my Pinterest board for this story.  I’m trying to get all of my image ideas in one place.  I need to make Scrivener pages for several more characters, but more importantly I need to make a timeline of sorts on the world’s history.  There are bits of this in my first novel The Serpent’s Tale, but I always feel better when I have adequate notes to fall back on.

Project: Story Audio Recording
Title: Northern Lights
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Fanfiction
Length: Novel
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII
Status: Editing
Progress: Adding in sound effects

I left Future TSN some notes on what to work on next with this, so I have a path forward.  I’m trying to create a thematic purpose to some of the sounds I’m using since I established a bit in the first chapter, because yes, I am that presumptuous.  The perfectionist in me won’t let this go.

Project: Research & Essay Organization
Status: Organizing Essay Notes
Progress: Working through notes for FFVII & ASOIAF comparative essays

I’m still working through the notes on the FFVII & ASOIAF comparative.  That’s…all I have to report.

Project: Author Website
Status: Renewed Free Trial (accidentally)
Progress: Planning time to work on

I pushed this to next Saturday because that’s what I do with this.  Push it to the next weekend, ugh.  One day.

In Progress

  • Game Reviews: Final Fantasy VI – Getting close to the end of the first edit of the Story Analysis section.
  • Book Reviews: A Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee (Montague Siblings) – Making progress.  Organizing the notes prior was the best thing I could’ve done.

Ughhhhhh I was supposed to go over to my sister-in-law’s for Easter lunch (brunch? Idk…) but another day another time my stupid body doesn’t work properly.  A week or so ago I was sitting on my couch and all of a sudden it felt like a pothole opened up in the side of my upper right arm, and it’s been painful to lift ever since.  Then a few days ago I woke up with my left shoulder blade on fire and the front of my upper left arm started hurting and I’m like “I guess this is my life now.”  I’m also exhausted, which is why this post was so short.  I really didn’t have the energy to write it.  I think I’m going to feed my cats and go back to bed.  I hope you all had a nice Easter if you celebrate, and if you’re not really into it (like me), make sure you don’t miss that discounted candy tomorrow!

  2. Oooo! Looking forward to your review on A Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue. I read the 2nd book, A Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy, but not that one. Not sure if I’ll ever get around to reading it so your review will fill me in (I have a grand total of 0 books read in the past 3 years lol).
