A biweekly post updated every other Wednesday detailing my current reading projects and what new titles I’ve added to my to-read list. Title links go to Goodreads, and if you have an account there feel free to friend me! I’d love to see what you’re reading and/or planning to read.

Title: Ecofeminism
Series Title: Critique Influence Change
Authors: Maria Mies & Vandana Shiva
Date Added: July 13, 2020
Date Started: May 3, 2022
Media: Paperback
Progress: Preface
I haven’t even gotten out of the preface(s) yet and I have so many notes. It’s just the authors talking about why they wrote the book, why it’s still valid, and what still needs to be done, and I already have enough for a multitude of essays.
Title: Belly of the Beast: The Politics of Anti-Fatness as Anti-Blackness
Author: Da’Shaun Harrison
Date Added: February 11, 2022
Date Started: May 2, 2022
The amount of things I relate to in this book is honestly troubling yet completely understandable.
Title: Black Hammer, Vol: 4: Age of Doom, Part Two
Series: Black Hammer
Author: Jeff Lemire
Illustrators: Dean Ormston, Rich Tommaso et al
Date Added: May 2, 2019
Date Started: May 1, 2022
I think I’m about halfway through this. So far it’s just as good as the ones prior, so I’m curious about the low rating. I don’t know if it’s the last one in the series either (though I doubt it).
Title: The King in Yellow
Author: Robert W. Chambers
Date Added: August 4, 2019
Date Restarted: April 17, 2022
Media: eBook/Kindle
Progress: 18%
I finished the first story, which is clearly supposed to show what someone driven mad by “The King in Yellow” looks like. The second piece is a play called “The Mask,” which I’m going to assume is about the one you can see on the cover.
Title: Parasite Eve
Author: Hideaki Sena
Translator: Tyran Grillo
Date Added: June 8, 2017
Date Started: April 14, 2022
Media: eBook/Kindle
Progress: 42%
Still very much into this. I’ve been reading more of the library book since that’s due next week, but I try to fit at least a chapter in daily.
Title: The Death of Jane Lawrence
Author: Caitlin Starling
Date Added: July 25, 2021
Date Started: April 7, 2022
Media: eBook/Kindle
Progress: 68%
This hasn’t gone quite where I expected it to, but there’s still quite a bit left.
Title: House of Sky and Breath
Series: Crescent City
Author: Sarah J. Maas
Date Added: March 7, 2021
Date Started: February 23, 2022
Media: Physical/Hardback
Progress: 22%
Pretty significant revelation happened at the end of the last chapter that completely changes the motivation of key players.
Ughhhh TIRED. I’m so stupid when I’m tired lol. I’d have had more in the update, but I need to do some cardio now.

It’s funny. I gave myself no spending limits on books this year and yet, I’ve barely spent anything. 😛
It means when I do go shopping, it’s going to be a doozy.

Eep, I’m nearing the $200 mark with books already this year AND I use the library o.O It’s because I see sales and think “Well it’s just $2.99” then five books later…I mean the average price I spent was around $6 per book (I literally have a spreadsheet with all my book purchases so I can keep track of this lol). I mean the year is half over (omfg, the year is almost HALF OVER????), so it’s not TOO bad.

I have, no joke, spent $15.18. I still have 6 months to make up for it though! I’ve pretty much only been grabbing kindle deals when they’re $1.99 or less. The most I’ve spent on one book so far is $7.96 for a dog training book. To be fair though, I have been resisting a lot of spending because Mr. C&M is currently unemployed. But when he finds a new job, mama is going on a book binge!

It’s really hard for me to turn down something when it’s only $1.99! It’s like it would be financially imprudent NOT to buy it.
I hope he finds something soon!
