A post updated every other Sunday discussing my current writing projects and any completed the prior two weeks.
Finished Projects: 0
Project: Story
Working Title: The High Archon
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Original
Length: Novel
Current Word Count: 11,282
Status: Reorganizing & Worldbuilding
Progress: Finishing up and polishing section about Semprians (winged humanoid race)
It’s a blessing and a curse to work on world building, because now I have even more story ideas based around just this particular demographic. I had to make a new section for it, because I’m not going to risk forgetting about these potential plots.
This update’s picture is inspiration for Sophia Lumengard, one of the two sisters who serves as a type of figurehead/leader for the Semprians or Asterveli (which is what they call themselves), the winged humanoid race I’ve spent the last few months detailing. While the artwork isn’t 100%, it’s a good base inspiration. “Asterveli” translates to “Star Children/Children of the Stars.” “Lumengard” means “light guardian” in my butchered Latin-like created language lol, and “Sophia” is a reference to Gnosticism of course, which gets even more blatant with her sister Pista (Pistis) Lumengard. I have ideas swirling around about these two involving one being non-speaking and the other wearing a mask over her eyes.
Omfg it took me so long to find this picture in my Pinterest boards then I left a comment on it because I located the source, which was not on the pic itself, and art theft is such a huge problem on that site. Anyway…this is some inspiration for the other sister, but I might switch things up I’m not sure yet.
Both Pista and Sophia are Aeonics, which means they can manifest four wings. Seraphim, of course, can manifest six, while Thrônaics are two-winged. I was going to call the last Archs, but even though they’re obviously based on angels/angelic lore, I wanted to steer away from that for how they view themselves. They’re not called anything remotely angelic until they have encounters with non-winged mortals, which is much later in their timeline.
So I need to finish up this group, which I’m working on. I keep coming up with more questions to answer, but I’m making progress and I hope to be able to move onto the next group called the Eves or Children of Evening who have a connection with the Asterveli or one of them at least. I hope I’ll be able to work on them before next update, and I hope any of my ramblings made sense lol.
Project: Story Audio Recording
Title: Northern Lights
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Fanfiction
Length: Novel
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII
Status: Editing
Progress: Adding in sound effects
I wish I could say I made more progress on this, but that would be a lie. I know what I need to do next, but I keep going to work on it too late and I just don’t have the energy.
Project: Research & Essay Organization
Status: Organizing Essay Notes
Progress: Working through notes for FFVII & ASOIAF comparative essays
Still chugging away on this. I only have a few more to go through before the next step.
Project: Author Website
Status: Pending
Progress: Under consideration
The author website might occur on the much maligned (and deservedly so) Facebook as in I might make a writer page there since I might not be ready to make a full site. I don’t know yet. I made a post about it there and got some encouragement, but RSD (rejection sensitivity disorder) is strong in this one and I’m worried no one will follow/interact with it, so we’ll see.
In Progress
- Game Reviews: Final Fantasy VI – So I mentioned that Tetraforce Theory video last week? Yeah, I watched it and have no fucking clue what I was on about. Maybe while I continue editing I’ll remember why this was relevant, but right now *shrug* I have some things I removed from the draft and put into OneNote. I think I wanted to add them at a more relevant point.
- Book Reviews: A Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee (Montague Siblings) – I’m in the editing phase!
The fact that I make progress on some things and not others tells me I might need to re-evaluate when I’m working on, though I just fucking did that lol. I know things get pushed to the back burner depending on what I’m most obsessed with, and right now that’s world building for my WIP/Series. I spend so much time on that I don’t have as much for the NL audio project, but I could get some editing in for my book review. With the audio project there’s a bit of set up for that and I have to get my bearings and do a lot of listening/audio editing. It takes a lot of concentration whereas with editing a book review, while not “easy” per se, it doesn’t take as much set up, and the concentration is different.
Anyway, I’ve spent like three hours on this. I’ll end it by saying I’m currently watching The Boys and Stranger Things. I’d stopped with the latter and didn’t finish the third season because it wasn’t holding me, but I’m loving the 4th. The Boys is always fucking excellent, and I’m laughing my ass off at people giving it one star reviews for being “too woke” and “political.” Like wtf is wrong with you? Everything is political! It’s just the things that follow your politics fly under your radar because you’ve never needed to think about it. Ugh, people piss me off.

I can’t wait for tomorrow. I don’t know what I’m going to do once I finish the last episode of Stranger Things. I know it’s only the first half of the season, too.

Yesss! Loved the new episodes so far for Stranger Things and The Boys! 😀
Your ideas you shared for The High Archon are really cool and interesting so I can 100% see how it would pull you in so strongly for worldbuilding. I also really like the last name Lumengard. ^_^

They’re like my two shows right now lol. I was having a time finding anything to hold my interest then The Boys came back and this season of Stranger Things feels a lot like the first. I was okay with the second but I didn’t even finish the third. This one seems like they really brought the vibe back.
I like it, too! Honestly…when I think of stuff like that I wonder if I heard it somewhere before because it sounds familiar lol. Even though I obviously talk about my writing here and also on social media, I’d really like to have a page dedicated just to it solely so I can just talk about random tidbits.

Yeah, that would be awesome! You should do it! 😀

Thanks! I put the planning aspect on my to do list for this Friday lol. At the very least I want to do that if I can’t make a full fledged website or something like that. I talk about it on my regular social media sometimes, but it would be nice to have a place solely for it where I could just post random tidbits.

I’m not sure what actionable help I can really offer, but if you need help or an ear for anything regarding set-up, let me know 🙂
