Title: The Ippos King
Series: Wraith Kings
Author: Grace Draven
Date Added: May 25, 2017
Date Started: June 29, 2022
Media: eBook/Kindle
Progress: 16%
Even though it’s not about the original characters, I’m still totally into it. Draven knows how to write slow burn romance. It’s not so much enemies to lovers as it is “I’m repulsed yet somehow drawn to you” dynamics and I’m here for it as someone whose attraction to people can change (for good or ill) based on their personality/mien.
Title: The Darkest Part of the Forest
Author: Holly Black
Date Added: June 21, 2016
Date Started: June 28, 2022
Media: eBook/Kindle
Progress: 49%
The main character of this book is…kind of foolish. Like I get she’s a teenage girl living in a town known for it’s Fair Folk population, but some of the decisions she makes are really questionable. I hate it when something could be solved by a simple conversation that just never happens. I’m also not sure if the author “released” the twist too quickly? That’s not exactly what I want to say, but it’s a story about a horned boy sleeping in a glass coffin that no one can wake up. You obviously know what’s going to eventually happen. Idk, I’ll see how I’ll feel when I finish if I can finish before it’s due back at the library in two days 😬
Title: Ecofeminism
Series Title: Critique Influence Change
Authors: Maria Mies & Vandana Shiva
Date Added: July 13, 2020
Date Started: May 3, 2022
I’m still reading the introduction. This is a long-haul research book for sure.
Title: Belly of the Beast: The Politics of Anti-Fatness as Anti-Blackness
Author: Da’Shaun Harrison
Date Added: February 11, 2022
Date Started: May 2, 2022
Media: Paperback
Progress: 13%
Haven’t had the time to read this sadly. I was still in recovery from the weekend on Monday when I usually do.
Title: The King in Yellow
Author: Robert W. Chambers
Date Added: August 4, 2019
Date Restarted: April 17, 2022
Media: eBook/Kindle
Progress: 50%
Halfway point with this. It’s longer than I thought it would be, and I’ll have to do some additional research when I’m done since there are a lot of takes on this collection.
Title: House of Sky and Breath
Series: Crescent City
Author: Sarah J. Maas
Date Added: March 7, 2021
Date Started: February 23, 2022
Media: Physical/Hardback
Progress: 40%
Ugh, I hate when I don’t have time to read this one. I’m so emotionally invested in these characters it’s almost a double edged sword when I do get to read though because I’m always afraid of what might happen to them in their volatile world.
One quick couch nap while waiting for takeout to be delivered and I’m trying to finish this up quickly so I can eat and hopefully gain some energy. I’m three books behind again, and I really should add another manga/graphic novel to the rotation to try to catch up. Also HOOOOOOT ugh, go away sun 🌞
