A post updated every other Sunday discussing my current writing projects and any completed the prior two weeks.
Finished Projects: 0
Project: Story/Series
Working Title: The High Archon (The Truth Seeker Chronicles)
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Original
Length: Novel
Current Word Count: 11,282
Status: Reorganizing & Worldbuilding
Progress: Updating background information on Scrivener
I’ve spent the last week or so thinking up new ways to torture the above character, my poor main, “dark angel” Uriel. I’m very much a “make them suffer for their happy ending” type of writer even after the happy ending, because happiness doesn’t last; joy is a lie, and all shall end in despair. I even wrote a poem about it, buuuut I’m not willing to share that yet haha. After I finished writing about how I was going to torture him, I had to sign off for the evening, because it cut a bit close to the bone (…also literally). There’s self-mutilation for reasons that would make anyone sad. This was all in service of bridging the gap between my first novel and the WIP. I had notes on it, but more details needed to be fleshed out.
I’m still not sure what my game plan is after I get everything caught up and comfortably detailed. Am I going to work on rewriting the first novel or continue working on the WIP? I don’t have enough information to answer that yet lol. If my brain decides I need to rewrite The Serpent’s Tale first in order to work on the WIP then that’s what I’m going to do, but it’s also possible I’ll decide to do the WIP first and then retcon the first novel since it’s been over ten years, and it might be more seamless to draft the continuation so I know where I’m going, and then polish them both. I suppose we shall have to see.
Project: Story Audio Recording
Title: Northern Lights
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Fanfiction
Length: Novel
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII
Status: Editing
Progress: Adding in sound effects
I refuse to put this officially on hold, but for all intents and purposes, it is on hold until I’m caught up enough on The Truth Seeker Chronicles to not want to spend all my free time working on it or my essay organization. Y’all know I love Aeriseph, but my WIP is my current priority, and it’s actually my love and devotion to my oldest ship that drives me since the WIP and essays were all inspired or based (respectively) on them or other aspects of FFVII.
Project: Research & Essay Organization
Status: Organizing Reference Material
Progress: Figuring out what materials need to be read or can just be referenced
I think I’ve finally made a list of general references i.e. what should be read/referenced for every essay. Of course things might change, but for now I’m pretty satisfied, and I only need to buy two more books in order to have everything I need for this. I’m now taking note of how many pages each “needs to be read” book has, and it’s not too bad. The two books I have to buy are both by Carl Jung, and one of them is fairly long, but it’s kind of vital. Then there are the books that are directly related to either FFVII or ASOIAF like Fire and Blood for the latter. It’s almost 800 pages! I stalled on whether or not to make it a read or reference, because I might be able to get any pertinent details within elsewhere. For now I’m going to continue focusing on narrowing down what needs to be done, and trying to keep a steady schedule on my reading.
Project: Author Website
Name: Adrienne’s Authorly Adventures
Status: Active
Progress: Updating
Not much to say about this. I updated a few times this week and might do another today.
In Progress
- Game Reviews: Final Fantasy VI – For all the excellent progress I made the last two weeks I don’t think I made any this time lol. Ah well the ebbs and the flows.
- Book Review: Childhood’s End by Arthur C. Clarke – I made some decent progress on this actually! I decided I was just going to do sort of an overview because I just don’t have to time to explore all of the ideas. I did bring up some of the questions I had I thought Clarke was exploring, so if it starts a discussion, I can jump off from there. I actually may have finished the review and just need to edit/proofread hm. I should probably do that lol.
Woof…well I didn’t wake up at 7:00 pm this Sunday, but I’m just finishing this now. My takeout should be here soon, which I’m happy about. I ate breakfast like five hours ago, and I tend to forget to eat (ah ADHD) and then I wonder why I’m all dizzy and out of it all the time lol.

Mr. C&M does the same thing. Forgets to eat and then is ravenous by dinner time. 😛

I’ve been hemming and hawing about actually reading Fire & Blood too. I bought it not too long after it came out and it still sits unread on my bookshelf. Two of my co-workers have read it though and said they enjoyed it. Have you watched the first episode of the new prequel show for GoT yet? I’ve been hearing really good things about it but don’t have HBO at the moment. If I keep hearing how good it is though I may just cave and get it again. 😛
Haha I’m also of the “make ’em sufferrr” persuasion when it comes to my characters. 😉

It’s almost 800 pages long o.O I had it on my research/reference list and I’m like eeeehhhh do I REALLY need to read it for my essay projects lol. I do want to read it, but it’s another long book.
I haven’t! But I’ve heard it’s actually good in the way the first seasons of GOT were good so I think I’ll check it out.
Omg, it’s just I want them to earn their happy ending, plus I’m just really good at writing about sad/guilty people lolol.
