The State of the Writer: 9/18/22

<–The State of the Writer: 9/4/22         The State of the Writer: 10/2/22–>

A post updated every other Sunday discussing my current writing projects and any completed the prior two weeks.

Finished Projects: 0

Project: Story/Series
Working Title:
The High Archon (The Truth Seeker Chronicles)
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Original
Length: Novel
Current Word Count: 11,282
Status: Reorganizing & Worldbuilding
Progress:
Updating background information on Scrivener

I finally finished torturing my MC along with completing the history of the world/kingdom I suppose.  The latter is kind of split amongst several Scrivener pages since it has to do with a demographic as well as several characters.  I may wind up compiling all of the notes into one history document.  It might help me figure out some loose ends, too, who can say.

Anyway, I moved onto updating the page for the picture above: Angaros, which means “divine courier,” according to my angel book.  He’s the male MC’s mount whom he obtains pretty late in the second part of the duology.  I’m not sure why I did it then, and I’m not sure if I’m going to change it when I go back.  These are questions for later days.

After this I plan to update the female MC’s pages and then I guess I’ll figure out what else has to be done from there.

Projects On Hold: 1

Project: Story Audio Recording
Title: Northern Lights
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Fanfiction
Length: Novel
Fandom: Final Fantasy VII
Status: Editing
Progress: Adding in sound effects

It just makes sense.  I’m not giving up on this, but it doesn’t make sense to include it every update if I’m not working on it.  I may pick it up again during my two week vacation that starts after next week.  Actually that sounds like a great idea.  I could work on finishing up the second chapter.  If it shows up in the next update then you’ll know lol.

Project: Research & Essay Organization
Status: Organizing Reference Material
Progress: Figuring out what materials need to be read or can just be referenced

I wound up just buying the Jung books with regular money like a plebeian.  I’m okay with it.  I’ll use the card for something else when I find it.   I re-organized the videos…again.  I had ones I’d completed with notes mixed in with ones I still need to watch, so I made a tab for the former.  Next I want to do a review of all the essays in order to figure out what other notes to move.

Project: Author Website
Name: Adrienne’s Authorly Adventures
Status: Active
Progress: Updating

Nothing to really update with this.  My time in Facebook jail was reduced to one week due to good behavi-hahah, nah I disputed the claim and I think that’s why they moved it from one month to just a week.  I still haven’t really updated this.  If I had the wherewithal I’d try to schedule it out, but I’ve just been skimming past things on my to do list lately so meh.

In Progress

  • Game Reviews: Final Fantasy VI – I think I made a little bit of progress, but I’ve been distracted with a new round of idea frenzy note taking.
  • Book Review: Alex + Ada: The Complete Collection by Jonathan Luna and Sarah Vaughn – I think I’ve figured out a good way to review this.  Reading back through my notes has at least given me the gist of the major overarching ideas.

I am so much better than I was last time.  I don’t know what I had (maybe pneumonia?  Maybe bronchitis?  Who knows…) but my breathing is back to its basic badness lol.  I need to get back to a good exercise schedule, but it’s hard when you don’t know what your state is going to be on any given day.

I mentioned that Stitch-Tok I found last time about the best line you’ve written and I have done some work on that.  I honestly thought I had more lines from more of my works saved, but it turns out I didn’t.  I have the most from Northern Lights and The Broken Rosedue to the macros I’ve made with like none from my original novel.  I know the second part of the duology is the better one with the better lines, but I don’t know exactly where they are.  It’s also really hard to pick my best line.  I don’t freaking know lol.  I think I might have one I’ll use when I finally get around to recording it.

So I’m on vacation the last week of September and the first week of October.  I need to figure out what I’m going to work on.  I generally like to try to finish up projects so I may spend time working on NL Chapter 2’s audio recording.
