Progress: Working on surname details

I’m currently transferring the surname stuff I figured out to Scrivener, though there have been some hiccups and the need to use my Word doc scratch pad.  The surnames I’m working on now are mostly jewel or metal based with a type of hierarchy.  I’m almost done with this, especially if I keep myself on track and don’t go off on any wild tangents.  I had to stop myself from falling down a major time suck rabbit hole for something I can figure out later or even during the drafting process.  I have a section for Open Questions, which are for just such things.  They’re not pertinent to know beforehand, and I have to remind myself of that.

Status: Organizing Reference Material
Progress: Focus on picking one essay to concentrate on

I wound up writing “Future” TSN a note the last time I worked on this because I knew I was getting overwhelmed with all of my ideas.  There are just too many and too many things I need to read, watch, and play in order to do them all, so I’ve decided I’m going to concentrate on one essay.  I don’t know which one yet, but I’ll make that decision the next time I work on this.

For once everything in progress has been posted, but I’m sure I’ll have something next time.

This one was really quick to update because I’m only really working on two projects: the series and the essays.  I have been rereading bits of Northern Lights, but I haven’t done any work on the audio.  I also downloaded a bunch of inspo-pictures for it from Deviant Art to save on my computer since they’re fucking around with peoples’ artwork i.e. allowing AIs to use it and making artists have to opt-out instead of allowing them to opt-in.  It’s complete bullshit and I don’t blame anyone for leaving.  I just want to make sure I can find my favorite artists/artwork, as well as have some of my favorite inspiration pictures.  I’m always paranoid there will be pics I don’t realize I have that get taken down and by the time I remember them they’re gone.  Deviant Art has only gotten worse through the years.  I’m “lucky” in that I don’t have any visual art just fanfiction, and I don’t even have all of The Broken Rose posted there, because it’s not really a fanfic site, and I have most of my stuff on the mains.

I think next update (or one of the State posts) I’ll be able to tell you all some exciting news 🙂
