Progress: Updating Scrivener with details about merfolk

I have been on this merfolk/seafolk kick for a good two or three months now.  I already had ideas about hybrids in the series combined with needing to create lore for people who live by the sea on the other side of a mountain, and I was able to tie that in with other previous lore.  I’m at the part where I put everything into Scrivener, which is the last step, but I still have at least two other demographics to do after this.  Eh, slow progress is still progress.

Project: Research & Essay Organization
Status: Organizing Reference Material
Progress: Organizing YouTube videos

My last progress item was to pick one essay to focus on, and I think I did that a while ago even before December.  I always forget to update the Progress part.  I figured out what essay I was going to work on then decided I needed to organize my YouTube research/reference playlists better, which is what I’ve been doing for the past month or so.  I think I want to figure out the general references I need next i.e. what resources will be useful for all of the essays so I can knock them out first before working on the ones specific for the current focus.

Ah yes it’s been a minute hasn’t it?  I don’t even know if I’m officially back.  I just saw this was one of the weeks I was supposed to do updates and I actually had some time so here it is.  Will I get the SOTR and SOTG done this week, too?  I guess we’ll see lol.  I’d like to but those are much more extensive so I might make some moderations this time to catch up since I’ve finished and bought more books and games in between last update and now.

We’re still unpacking and figuring things out.  The next major project is to buy a computer desk for the designated upstairs office so that one or both of us can work up there.  Right now that room is just filled with boxes, and the spare bedroom is the “cats’ room” right now where we’re also storing the excess laundry.  I’m trying to watch money closer now because we spent a lot to get out of our shitty apartment as well as needing to buy new things for the house.  We’re not house poor, but we do have a lot more credit card debt and we’re not getting back as much as I was hoping from taxes 😦  I figured since we bought a house in 2022 that would help us for refunds, but I think that’s based more on how much in taxes you pay on the property, and since we bought it in December we didn’t really pay much in that regard so hopefully next year.

Anyway, yeah, I’ll try to get back into my regularly scheduled posts, but you can always find me complaining on Twitter if you dare tread those waters or even the horrors that are Facebook :p
