30 Day Video Game Challenge: Day 30

Day 1

Day 30: Your favorite game of all time.

Again I must apologize.  The last few questions steer me in only one direction.  I’ll keep the answer brief, since I’ve talked about it ad nauseum, especially in these,er, final days.

I’ve said enough about FFVII to fill several books (which isn’t too far from the truth), so I’ll just ask you all what’s your favorite game of all time, as I leave you with the wrap up.

Thanks so much again to Athena | AmbiGaming and Cheap Boss Attack for doing this challenge before me and giving me the idea to follow in their footsteps.  Athena is still in the midst of hers, and a new blogger friend Luna over at GamersUnitedGG is currently embroiled in her own, as well, so you should check them all out!

This was a lot of fun, and it was a bit of a challenge, more so in making sure I kept to my self promise of posting an answer every day (thank you WordPress for the scheduling function), though I can’t say the questions didn’t make me think, which is never a bad thing.

Here’s the full list of questions if you want to attempt it yourself!

Feel free to tag me if you decide to do so.  I’d love to see your answers 🙂

Until later, faithful followers ♥

<–Day 5                                                                                                                    Day 7–>

Day 6: Most annoying character.

If you’d asked me this before I played World of Final Fantasy, I probably would’ve said Edward from FFIV, Yuffie from FFVII (Aeris from Crisis Core is another possibility, but I rant talk about her later this month), possibly Navi from the Legend of Zelda series, though I never really found her that annoying, and Tingle was way worse, but hands down the most annoying character I’ve ever come across is Tama from WOFF.  Omfg, she is so goddamn annoying, and I was lucky enough to play the game in Japanese with English subtitles.  I can’t imagine listening to that voice the-all the time, ugh (and yes, she throws random “thes” into her speech in what I’m assuming is supposed to be a cute quirk.  It’s not).

Not. At. All.

Tama does become fairly useful later in the game, and she’s integral to the story.  This doesn’t justify or make up for how annoying she is.

What character did you want to throw through a wall?  Let’s bemoan this together.

Day 5: Game character you feel you are most like (or wish you were)

I’ve answered this question before in my Final Fantasy Friday: To Thine Own Self Be True post.  It sums it up better than I could ever repeat.

Let’s discuss.  You can comment on this post or the FFF one.  Doesn’t matter to me 🙂

Day 2: Your favorite character.

This one is as easy as the first question was difficult.

This entire blog is pretty much devoted to why I love him , so I won’t bore you with repeats; I’ll just direct your attention here, here, here, here, and here if you’d like more details on the depths of my adoration.

Seph is not only my favorite video game character, he’s my favorite fictional character of all time.

Who’s your favorite character and why do they deserve your love?  Tell me in the comments!

30 Day Video Game Challenge: Day 1

Day 2–>

First I need to say that I found this list of questions through two of my blogger buddies: Cheap Boss Attack and Athena | AmbiGaming.  CBA answered all of his questions in one fell swoop, while Athena is still in the midst of hers.  You should check both of them out and get in on the happenin’ conversation 🙂

I’m going to do something different from both and them and post a question and answer every day this month as June has 30 days.  My goal was to do this in April, my birthday month, since it has the same day count, but I didn’t have enough time in March to prepare, so I figured I’d want until the next month with the proper number.  I hope you enjoy and conversation/discussion is encouraged!

Day 1: Very first video game.

Hm, well this is a tough one, and it’s pretty bad to struggle with the very first question of a test.  I started playing video games when I was around the age of three, and since I’m 37 years old now, that’s quite a tidy bit of time to look back upon.  My first system(s) was ColecoVision/Atari, but for the very first game my tender little self played, it’s anyone’s guess.  All of those early cartridges (Pitfall, Asteroid, Centipede, Adventure, Brain Games, etc.) just run together in my mind.

Then there were also some computer based games like King’s Quest that I enjoyed before I eschewed PC gaming for more console based, but that was probably after I first played Coleco/Atari.

The Nintendo Entertainment System came out in 1985 when I was five years old, and I believe we got our first one when I was six.  I certainly remember the first game I played on that:

I’m sure this was a “first game” for many a player, and I’m going to go with SMB as my unofficial first video game.

What was your very first game?  Let’s discuss in the comments!
