About this picture…I will now quote from the famed philosopher: the internet.

When VR become indistinguishable from reality, fantasies will be OFF THE CHAIN.

Do with that what you will.  Oh, and I definitely want one of those hand thingies my dear Seph is wearing on his right   Apparently, Alexa has been listening because I keep getting advertisements and Pinterest recs for them now.  Also, I’m aware his wing is on the wrong side.  Are you going to tell him?  I thought not…

Rounded wicker basketBehold my absolute laziness as I just use the second basket picture for this week.  BEHOLD IT.  I found this one and last week’s months ago for this chapter and figured I’d just roll with it.  I’m not going to use the for the chapter pic, but they’re good for this status post.  I’m more than halfway through the second edit of Chapter 17, and it’s going well.  I don’t think I’ll need a third, so should be able to post as soon as I’m done.  Side note, but I’ve noticed my stories have been getting more kudos and comments on AO3 since the Remake release date announcement et al.  It’s a sensible correlation.  I, myself, have been more active on tumblr, though I’m still pissed at what they did with NSFW stuff and how that apparently fucked up my blog even though I had nothing that was NSFW.  My picture and background are not only gone, but trying to restore them doesn’t work 😡  I’ll hopefully figure it out eventually, but I’m irritated.

“General, c-can you put me down so I can see better, p-please?”

As easy as placing a doll in a house, Sephiroth did as she bid, but she kept his angelic face in her sight, captured as all was forgotten.

“Am I what you wish to peruse, little flower?”  He tried to pull mirth, but it waned.  “You can look at me whenever you wish.”

“I can never look enough.”

It’s funny how one chapter will need so much correction and tweaking whereas another will need minimum.  Chapter 17 has been one of the latter so far.  My biggest issue is thinking of a title for it, but that usually comes while I’m in the midst of editing.

Author’s Note: The picture used in this chapter is the outfit I was describing in Chapter 5.

Aeris receives something she always desired, while Sephiroth battles his guilt.

Aeris/Aerith standing in a garden with Grecian pillars with white flowers at the top. She is wearing a lavender colored dress with silver lining and boots of the same, while standing askance on the edge of the pillared dais. There is a large pink rose and greenery to the bottom right of her. The words “Chapter 16 – In Bloom” are to her top right.

Aeris had glimpsed the roof of their house, but she’d never set foot above.  By Sephiroth’s office were stairs leading up, and the little maid gingerly stepped.  It had been a few weeks past their night conversation, and she’d heard noises from above.  Scraping and scratching had trickled down, making Aeris jolt up in concern.  Once she’d had Myrna over for tea, but her neighbor sipped through without startle.  The maid pressed a knuckle to her pursed lips, holding the questions in.

The day following her “meeting” with Miers she’d texted her friend contrite.

It’s slow going but it’s going.  I’ve been doing small editing sessions of a paragraph or two when I can snatch a few moments.  This chapter has presented some difficulties, possibly because it and the following two kind of flowed together, so I might do a three chapter update next time.  My notes are all mixed up between them, so that might be the best way to ensure everything is in its right place.  I’ll consider that more as I continue editing though.

These are legit called “Avalanche Lilies,” and that’s just too perfect.

I did so much organizing of the notes for this chapter and the next two.  They were blended together in OneNote, and I had to try to separate things out.  I actually used the “wrong” picture last week, since that’s not relevant until the next chapter, which concerns obtaining a flower basket.  The current one is about the garden mentioned in Chapter 15, and then Chapter 18 has a little bit of action.  It’s not quite THAT scene yet (sorry Lightning Ellen), but I promise it’s coming 😀

Curved wicker basketNot much to say besides Chapters 14 and 15 have been posted, but apparently I double posted Chapter 14 on Archive of Our Own so I’ll have to remedy that.  Speaking of AO3, I donated $10, which gives me a vote on stuff or something.  I should probably look into that lol.  The site has been nominated for a Hugo Nebula Award, which is…pretty fucking awesome.  They’re a much smaller site than Fanfiction.net, but I’m only posting this story there due to FF.net’s draconian censorship rules, and tbh I like the AO3 community a little more.  It seems cozier and more closely knit.
