Tis the Christmas season (or Advent to be theologically accurate), and in the spirit of the season, the lovely blogger over at Later Levels has decided to celebrate the 12 Days of Christmas a few days earlier with 12 gaming related questions for all of us good, little gaming elves out there. These are my responses.
❤ 23 December 2017: The party is still going strong and you find yourself conveniently positioned under the mistletoe. Which video game character would you call over for a cheeky kiss?

Update on scheduled date: So yesterday (12/17/17), my husband caught me fangirling (swooning and sighing) over my Great General, and the picture below in, er, general.
I thought he was in the other room watching YouTube videos! How dare he interrupt my fangirl time :p
Who would you bestow with that special mistletoe kiss? Let’s talk smooches in the comments ♥
This was posted back in July 2014 on the other blog I write for Caffeine Crew (where you can still read the original). I decided to post it here as well on my personal blog and update it with some insights and comparisons about fan art in addition to discussing potential reasons the stigma might exist. As always well informed comments are encouraged and welcome.
The moment I mention that I write fanfiction I see instantaneous judgment: a smirk, a sneer, and certain posture that proclaims utter disdain. Fanfiction receives a bad reputation because there’s no regulation, no filter, no threshold guardians standing in the way. It can be put on various websites and blogs without editing or impunity, though this does not hold for all fanfic websites where some have admins and regulators who act as an editor would, checking for grammar, content, and overall soundness of story. Sites like Fanfiction.net; however, are open for any and all, which means that the excellent hobnobs with the abysmal, but the instantaneous judgment when someone says that they write fanfiction is unwarranted, and it should be no more looked down upon that someone who says they draw fan art.
This macro took two tries. I made one and then realized it was far too wordy, and the words were far too clunky. This prompted me to change them in the actual story so something good came out of the mess. But even after the update something wasn’t right. There were still too many words, so I…cut it down.
The lines are spoken by Aeris from my fanfiction Northern Lights Chapter 9 – The Devil You Know, and the picture of course does not belong to me. I’m nowhere near this talented. It is a piece by Deviant Artist TORIMORRIS simply entitled “Sephiroth.”
