What I Didn’t Finish

Title: Final Fantasy V
Series: Final Fantasy
System: PlayStation 3

Date Started: June 17, 2017
Date DNF: May 27, 2018

I called it quits after the Ancient Library.  The job system is just not working for me.  I like the characters and enjoy the story, but it started being a chore to play it.  I told myself if I could find a decent Let’s Play, I’d concurrently watch V while starting VI, and that’s just what I did.

Games Finished This Week: 1

Title: The Room Three
Genre: Puzzle, Mystery
Developer: Fireproof Games
Platform(s): iOS, Android
Release Date: 2015
Date Purchased: May 28, 2017
Date Started: May 28, 2017
Date Finished (1): July 4, 2017
Date Finished (2): August 15, 2017
Playing Duration (1): 37 days
Playing Duration (2): 79 days

Admission time.  I watched a video of the last two alternative endings.  The puzzle for one of them was really difficult, and I just couldn’t be bothered.  Regardless, I really liked not only this game, but the entire series.  I’d highly recommend it to anyone who likes point-and-click puzzle games.  I don’t think I paid more than $3 for more than a single one of them, and the first one is free.  I’m not going to do an official review post for either of them, since there’s really no need; however, I did review each on Grouvee, and I’ll see about rating them on Amazon, since I played through my Kindle.

Let me know what you think if you decide to try them!

Progress: Chapter 2 – Leaving on first official mission

No additional progress this week.  Hopefully, I’ll find time to play this weekend.  I’m on vacation the first two weeks in September, so I’m hoping to really get some play time in then.

Progress: Outside Walz Castle – Grinding

No progress on this one either.  Since I finished The Room Three, and I typically play that Tuesday nights, I’m hoping to trade that for this, but since it’s already 9:30 and I have more to do, it doesn’t seem highly likely tonight.

Progress: Chapter 2 – Leaving on first official mission

I finally got some play time in this week.  I explored the entirety of the school and figured out how to switch characters.  I’m still not completely comfortable with the battle system, but since the very next thing I’m doing is fighting, I suppose I’ll get more practice in.  I’m assuming after this first official mission, I’ll have access to the Coliseum where I can do CBA’s leveling trick.

I did not play this at all last week, but I’ve decided I’m just going to move onto Walz Tower instead of trying to grind up enough levels to defeat Shiva.  I’ll come back later.

Progress: Outside Walz Castle – Grinding

I did some brief leveling this weekend, while watching Adventure Time, because grinding is kind of boring.  I want to get to Level 13 before I take on Shiva again, but now that I’m thinking about it, I won’t have the Level 2 black magic anyway (Fire 2), so I’ll probably just continue onto Walz Tower next time I play.  I can (hopefully) come back for Shiva right after that.

Nope, nothing this week again.  I did at least look up the leveling shortcut so kindly told to me by Cheap Boss Attack, and you can find it here, if you’re so interested in how to cheat the game by manipulating time.  I’m (once again) hoping to play this weekend.

Progress: Walz Castle

I didn’t get a chance to play this either.  I’ve been spending a lot of my time trying to catch up on my emails and blog subs.  To be honest guys…I’ve been really stressed about that.  I hate falling and feeling behind, but there’s just so much on my plate that I can’t keep up.  I don’t want this to be a bitchfest, but it’s like I’m constantly fighting fatigue, fighting lack of time, trying to figure out what I’m going to work on, falling behind no matter how well I schedule and prioritize, and it’s seriously stressing me the fuck out.  I know none of you blame me for not catching up on your blogs, but I just feel really guilty that I don’t have time to read and comment on stuff, because everyone here has been so supportive with my blog.  Like you take the time to read my ramblings and comment, and many of you are as busy as me if not busier (hell, some of you have children).  The least I can do is return the favor, but I also need to keep on my weekly posts and work on my backlog of book reviews and game reviews and try to read, write/edit, work on essays (which hasn’t happened in months), try to make time to test out my audio/video equipment, but I only have a few hours of useful, I guess I’ll call it, awareness (?) every day.  I get home from work and it’s almost a rush to work on what I can work on, because I have chronic fatigue, so I have to prioritize what takes the most concentration, because that’s the first thing that goes when I get tired so I try to do the writing/editing tasks first before something more passive like reading blog posts or watching something..  Even with medicine and the coffee I drown myself in it’s draining, and I can’t even seem to catch up on the weekends.

Ugh, sorry I wasn’t supposed to overrun my FFV section with my complaints.  I think I need to come up with a better scheduling system.  Planning and organizing is how I’ll save the day (and my sanity).

Progress: Walz Castle

I’m still at Walz Castle, but I managed to loot the basement and snag myself 3000 GP and an Elf Cloak.  That stupid harpy down there attacked me three or four times, but I was able to run away, though it killed/knocked out two of my characters.  I attempted to fight/obtain Shiva, but she and her cohorts kicked my ass even though I took the advice on GameFAQS of switching everyone to a Black Mage and casting Ice.  I’m going to do some leveling and give it another try.  I might look up another walkthrough and see if there are any more tips, or I may just continue on to Walz Tower and come back for her later.

I visited Walz Town first then triggered the event in the castle.  Currently, I’m saved outside.  My next task will be to tackle the basement and hopefully defeat and gain Shiva.
