“What I’m Playing” might be a misnomer because I haven’t played anything in over a month.  I started watching Olizandri’s Let’s Play and I’m currently pretty far past the part I stopped at.  He was able to make the persuasion I failed, but I noticed he used Erador in battle almost every time.  I also realized I misinterpreted certain moves and could’ve been doing a lot more, but there were some weird translations for all the game is decently written and pretty well voiced.

Peeps…I may DNF this one and I feel really bad about that because I honestly like it, but I haven’t felt the motivation to play in weeks.  That failed persuasion really bothers me and even though my idea was to fight some mock battles with Erador (the character I have to convince), I’m just…not feeling it.  It doesn’t help that I can just watch Oliz’s LP of it and chill AND I have Voice of Cards to play as well (which has a DLC to play afterwards).  I haven’t taken the step yet with the LP (I’m currently embroiled in Trails of Cold Steel and Horizon Zero Dawn in that area), but it’s probably going to happen.  Also, who knows; maybe watching it will spur me to play again.

I failed another persuasion, but I was smart enough to save beforehand and not save over.  However, I keep failing at it probably because I don’t have enough affinity with the character I need to convince.  This one has three possible outcomes, but the one they keep going with is the most ridiculous fucking thing ever.  The one I want to do makes sense in the long game whereas the one they want to go with only works in the short term.  I’m not trying to make the people hate me.  I looked up that bringing people along into battles will increase your affinity with them so I’m going to try some mock battles with them to see if I can sway them to my side.  If all else fails I’ll go with the second best plan, which I still think is absolutely ridiculous, but doesn’t have as much fallout as the other.

What I Demoed

  • Dynasty Warriors IX – Nope.  Not my type of game at all lol, aaaaand now I feel really foolish because I thought it was the same series as Miracle Warriors as played by HG, but it just seemed like a hack and slash type of game, which is not my bag.  I mixed up my “warriors.”

I have moved into the spreadsheet making phase of playing lol.  I love my spreadsheets.  It just makes item organization much easier, especially now that I have duplicates of some classes.  I registered more characters since I have this Memory Conch item that will allow you to share experience with inactive party members, and I noticed the new ones I made before were at like level 20.  I haven’t taken any of them out yet, but I like the idea of having two of a class like Zodiac (magic user) and Hero.

I was hoping I’d be finished this by now, so I could at least say I did “one” in February (four LOLOL), but it’s been a few days since I picked it up.  I absolutely love it, but I wish there was a way to manually save.  I have to wait for it to do so on its own, and I don’t always notice when it does and am afraid to just turn off in case I lose like an hour of progress.

What I DNF’d

  • What Remains of Edith Finch – I honestly almost forgot I’d started playing this then stopped.  Not because I don’t like it, but I thought I hadn’t reviewed it based on the LP I watched, but I did.  I don’t have any issue replaying a game, but with so many on my backlog, I figured I’d move on to something else.

I remember either reading or talking to Kim of Later Levels about this, and I’ve had it not only on my backlog but my Switch itself for a while.  I figure it’s a good game to play for 4 in February.  It’s absolutely gorgeous with an aesthetic that reminds me of Child of Light’s watercolor graphics and fluidity.
